Can anyone recommend a good dentist for me and our children to go to? We're due for our cleanings so I need to get on the ball and get some appts scheduled asap!

and also, does UC cover ONE cleaning a year? Or two? I know you're supposed to be seen twice a year, but I wasn't sure if UC covers just once or if they actually cover twice...

I think that they cover one every 9 months...
I had to find a dentist, my kids needed a lot of work. I love our kids' dentist. Its a great practice, very kid friendly. My middle boy was petrified to go, and now he goes with no fear.

I looked it up.

Dr. Holly on Kemper St. (off Sports Arena) in San Diego. He used to be googleable- I'm sure he still is... that's how I came across him. He had lots of GREAT reviews.

I see Dr Katnik, he's off Clairemont Mesa Blvd. I (L) him and all the ladies who work there. They are super kid friendly, too - the entire office has giant fish tanks all over, it's really cool!

my neighbor goes there and that is where i am going to switch to. she needs to see an oral surgeon to have a molar pulled and he was able to get her a referral to Balboa to have it done there. he doesnt charge for gas, and she only had to pay $50 to have 2 wisdom teeth pulled!

Exactly!! He told me he specializes in dealing with tricare/UC, so he definitely knows how to get around things

It is a very small office, just the Dr and hygienist and the Dr. actually does all the cleaning. He is good with the kids and they never leave us waiting. :)

We go every six months.

I believe that you get 2 cleanings in a 12 month consecutive period!!

they are on lunch between 1-2 but I'm going to call them after 2 and try to set up an appt. They are soooooooooo close to us.... so that would be nice. They're like half a mile from our house :lol Are they good with young kids, like around Shelby's age? I have to take her in for her first cleaning now that she's 2. I have a feeling that she'll be a little harder to work with than Jaxon though b/c she's very timid.

I talked to them, made appts for me, Jaxon and Shelby and will also be taking Hunter in after we go. She said we get 2 visits a year and one of the docs there actually specializes with kids and will have them eating out of the palm of his hand. I warned her about shelby being very timid and she said this one dentist there is amazing with kids. So, we'll see how it goes! My appt is this friday :cp
