I was wondering how many payments do they usually break them up into? My dh was suppose to get one in October but we dont see it on the LES. So I am just wondering if he doesnt get one cause he is suppose to get out in May of 08 but he has failed 2 PRT's so they might be kicking him out if he fails the next one. we both thought he was going to be getting one and saving that money. I was just wondering how it worked. TIA!!

I dont really know how many he has had. I only know that he has gotten them every October. And every time that he has gotten it, it was the right amount. Thanks I will check the bottom of it.

Yes it does. I told him, cause he asked about it and so I asked him to ask someone on the ship about it. I am hoping that it is an error, but I dont have such luck.

Yeah you do not get one the last year. Meaning for example if hi's reenlistment is up on May08 he wont get anything on Oct 07. That's how it was with us :mumble

For us, with the first bonus, we got the huge chunk in May and then the first installment in Oct. then we got 3 more installments. This one we are getting now we got the huge chunk in Oct. 2004 and then installments in 2005, 2006 and now this year and next year. He isn't due to re-enlist til Oct. 2010 so we will have 2 years of this enlistment without an installment.

this happened with us since we too were counting on one last year. :mumble basically your initial bonus counts as one. so if you re-enlist for 6 years, your first "payment" is the initial payment. then you get 5 other payments. so for your last year you won't get one. it stinks and is total crap, but :shrug oh well.

the last year of the enlistment you won't get one. because the first year you basically get two, you get half of it up front plus the first installment our enlistment is up in 09 so i think this year will our last i am not certain we need to check into that honestly.

More than likely he probably won't get one. But I would have him check with PSD or whoever handles your pay because our LES doesn't say that we have an installment coming, but I know that we do. We have had that happen ever year since he re-enlisted this last time. We didn't have aynthing on the LES to say that we were getting it last year, but we got the bonus installment like we should have.

Hi We are getting one this year and it is our last on this enlistment the wayto figure out is how much he enlisted for- example: 60k minus 25% then minus half of that....the part they give upfront then divide the remaining by how many years-5625.00 hope this helps!! :D

Ok so I went onto my pay and looked up Eric's LES.. we know that he is getting one this October but it is not showing up in September's LES... SOO I went to October of 2006 and it shows up on that LES.. :lol yeah I am confused too... but MAYBE your dh will still get it?? I would check with the YN and maybe they can see what is going on..
