In late December we'll be moving on post for the first time (we usually get housing off post). How does it work? We know what houses we'd like to live on and because he's just coming home from a year in Korea, we get moved up on the waiting list.

We've been trying to get a hold of them, but they're being elusive.

is is first come first served-
from Iraq you will bumped to the top, but you will be offered what is available-
and from what I understand of your branch you cannot refuse and wait for a house you want...
once in housing you will lose the BAH ( since you said housing not PPV), but may still see the BAH on the LES and then deducted right away...

from what i understand, if you do decide to wait for the paticular house you want and dont take the one they offer you move to the bottum of the list.

Usually if they offer you a house and you don't accept it you get pushed to the bottom and have to start all over again. when housing was housing meaning before PPV we could settle on a floor plan and wait for that house in particular( i did that once before) now though it is first come first serve and basically what house is available.
