Wanted to add that it will be cheaper to get Luis neutered than to get Thelma spayed. Reason for that is the difference in surgery and anaesthesia for spaying is more expensive and more dangerous from what I understand. Recovery for neutering in rabbits is REALLY quick.

you're welcome :hugs I'm sorry your kids had to see that, but if it's any consolation I was in 1st grade when it happened with our rabbits, and it's not so disturbing after a while. As long as they understand why it happened they should be ok soon.

Can bunnies be spayed or neutered??
yup! to my understanding they can...you can get it down at the vets office out in town banfields which are part of petsmart (the animal hosptial portion) are great, reasonable, and good. private vets out in town (you'd have to research) are wonderful too. I've heard there are vets on base. Never used them? Don't know. and than depending on rank/money if there's a real problem you can go to your local animal shelter. They have low cost spay/neuter programs and work on a very low low budget (I've done animal rescue work is how I know that). Anyhow, I don't know about bunnies b/c I haven't had one. I do know with Guinea pigs they can do it. ****I DO NOT RECOMMEND SURGERY ON GUINEA PIGS**** They are too little of creatures, and than like people depending on body/personality it doesn't work. I spent thousands of dollars trying to help and save my pets. On 3 separate occassions take that back at least 4 are coming to mind just thinking about it (it's very very expensive) they all passed (was HEART broken) and one was really bad. Sometimes you have to love them enough to go. I do know with doggies and cats it's a fairly return procedure and they recover fine. Check out your local vets office. Do you have bunnies and a vet for them? They should have a 1x a year checkup like we do =))

I LOVE ANIMALS! I think they are really 'cool' creatures God put on the earth. Peacocks are my favorite too.....
