Hi my name is Samantha I am 20 years old and my boyfriend is a PFC in the U.S. Army and is currently deployed to Iraq with the infantry.... His Job scares me because he is a machine gunner on top of the stryker and I just feel alone with out him here. None of my friends understand what I am going through and I need some sort of outlet... I often find mysekf very emotional and just wanting a friend to listen to me... well thats kinda my story and if you want to be friends and can relate email me!:hi

Hey! I'm an Army girlfriend too! I'm new to the military though--my boyfriend is in basic currently. But I do get what you mean about people not understanding. I've quickly learned that unless you've been through the same thing most people don't understand. They don't understand sometime the simpliest thing can trigger tears cause you miss him. This site is very helpful and the people are very friendly. Feel free to pm me anytime

Hello and welcome to SOS! I'm Breanne and a navy girlfriend. My DB is currently in Iraq and this is our first deployment. I know what you mean when it comes to not having too many friends that understand what we're going through. If you ever need anything PM me. I'm here to listen anytime. If you have any questions I'll do my best to answer. I'm still learning since I'm kinda new at this military gf thing but you learn quickly in these types of situations. Stay strong! Deployments help you to realize that you are so much stronger than you think you are.
