Hi Ladies,

I know I've said before that I don't mind members PMing each other with gentle reminders about the siggie rules, but apparently there is a little bit of hostility brewing behind the scenes due to PM's being sent in regards to sigs. No one is at fault, it's a touchy thing for a lot of people and I can see how things could get ugly without that being anyone's intent.

From, this point on, if you have an issue with someone's signature, please hit the "report post" button http://forum.militarysos.com/images_msos/buttons/report.gif of any of their posts, and leave the reason within the description box.

I remember a few times, pre-Jewel, where I would try to load some stuff and the system would tell you are OVER THE LIMIT :arg I swear it wasn't humongous.

I was like wth? :lol This was just a few weeks ago and I thought cool there is an internet siggy police. Or maybe my computer is just on crack :dunno

No one should ever be "yelled at" and no one has been "yelled at" as far as I know. If someone is yelling at you, please let me know. A member of staff might have respectfully asked you to shorten it some, but I'd personally rather be asked to do it myself than have someone go in and just delete my entire sig with no prior warning.

handy tip non jewels... get a 3x5 index card and that is 15 lines so you can keep your siggy in check. :yes can we also mention it's 15 lines once your images are up too?? since some might think it's 15 lines of code.

I might have kindly asked you to fix the size, but I personally have never yelled at anyone about their signatures.

I did want to tell everyone though... it's not a personal issue when a staff member asks you to fix the size of your signature. In the mornings, I open up a separate browser and while I surf SOS, I add in names of people who's signatures are too long... and I don't bother with people who are a couple of lines over... but if they are creeping 6, 7, 8+ lines over, then expect a PM.

If you need any help, any member of the staff is always happy to assist!

Actually, a 3x5 card is about 5 lines over :hehe ... I only mention that because Brandi is not an exact stickler for a few lines, but I don't want people to use that as a guideline and then add a few more lines on top of that too.

But you are right, a lot of people are often confused that it's 15 lines of code text, but it's fifteen lines of images/avatars/words once displayed.

well on the short side it's about 15 lines :blush i was looking for something to keep mine in check and when crystal put the lines up i measured. :giggle but yes on the long side it's too long

There is but it is super server intensive, so it would probably freeze the site up.

I didn't appreciate the Siggy Police until I tried to log onto SOS with this turdy satellite connection and people's sigs got out of control for a couple days. I couldn't believe what a difference turning off sigs made.
