tifflovezyou 10-03-2007, 08:09 AM I walked for miles and miles and had :sex... It didnt work, I was still induced :lol Sorry I couldnt be any more help!
*Sarah* 10-03-2007, 08:25 AM well fresh pinapple is supposed to help induce labor naturally. I ate almost a whole one and my mouth got all numb. apparently it only works if you are ready for labor, at least that is what my dr said.... other than that I have heard that castor oil works. My nieghbor at ft polk did it and later that day she had the baby. good luck. its almost time:D I know you must be so excited
Jennygirl 10-03-2007, 08:25 AM LOL im so sore, I cant even think of having sex ;o)
AshleyJ 10-03-2007, 08:27 AM The only think that I did, but Idk if it started my labor was vac the night before. I went all out b/c I was cleaning for a get together that I was supposed to have. I went to bed feeling a lil ill and woke up w/ contractions. :giggle So just keep busy is the main thing that I'm seeing outta all the responses.
Jennygirl 10-03-2007, 08:38 AM Im taking notes!
Kaymara 10-03-2007, 08:43 AM Please dont try castor oil. It can cause the baby to have a bowel movement in utereo and make ya feel yucky. That and some of the herbal things that people have tried can cause high blood pressure etc. So be careful with anything you have to take that is medicine/herbal related
Truthfully they are all just little tales. If anything worked it is because labor was ready to start.
Sex is supposed to help (the semen ripens the cervix etc)
eggplant parmesean
spicy food
walking
fresh pineapple
there are some acupressure points you can look up. 1 is in the foot, other is in the hand.
and a whole mess of other things
That being said I went to 41 weeks and 4 days with Ethan. I ate fresh pineapple and went into labor the following day. But I am fairly certain it was coincedence and my body/baby was ready for labor.
Jennygirl 10-03-2007, 08:46 AM Hmmm!! Im having spicy food friday and on thursday I can have our friend do accupuncture ;o) since she is a vet that does it for animals and a person who does it for people!
Ewww castor oil!
Well, 2 days before my water broke I: ate some pieces of pineapple, ate mexican food, walked a lot, and had sex :lol

:agree I think those things only work if your body is ready for labor. we knew a couple who was overdue and they had sex every night for a week and she still had to be induced ( side story, the guy came to work and was complaining about having sex every night and the guys were like quit being a p***y and go home and f**k your wife!! :lmao)
Jennygirl 10-03-2007, 10:06 AM LOL
nothing worked with either of my kids... the baby will come when s/he's ready
Kiser'sBabe 10-03-2007, 10:13 AM I walked alot and had "relations"...lol but nothing worked for both my pregnancys. I had to be induced bith times.
wolfspawprint 10-03-2007, 10:18 AM Moving did it for me. We moved on a Saturday three weeks before the baby was supposed to arrive and Anthony was born on Sunday.
Jennygirl 10-03-2007, 10:57 AM Its like the weirdest thing, but i get lots of movements and then i feel sooooooo sick

CUz the baby is so big and pushing on all your organs etc ;) Ethan used to hit a nerve in my pelvic area. And I swear he would do it on purpose. That would shoot me from a sitting position to a standing position in .2 seconds. He was rubbing his head on it.
Ashley used to hit a spot too

That is because baby is pushing on your stomach and when it moves, it causes the tummy to do nasty things. For 3 weeks before DS was born, we couldn't leave the house because I would throw up at random times. Granted, DS was a 10 pound baby, he was head down forever and every time he would kick hard, I would throw up.....LOL. If we did have to leave the house, I had plastic grocery bags in my pocket......LOL.

Ewww castor oil!
not accuPUNCTURE... it's accuPRESSURe. they are very different LOL
and didn't work at all for me. neither did sex. or walking 6 miles a day... or spicy foods... or pineapple...
michellelac 10-03-2007, 11:18 AM I tried castor oil. It didn't work. Just made me have to be in the bathroom all night. Sorry TMI. I finally just said she was never coming out and BAM that night my water broke. I know that's not why it did but I like to think so.
NavyChiefs_Wife 10-03-2007, 11:20 AM the only thing i did was have sex.
