my rottie in TX will just lick the floor/carpet/himself over and over and over again. get a rattle can or something and shake it when he's licking beyond the normal "cleaning" licking

I actually don't mind it :lol Dogs crack me up when they start doing that. Though, our lab actually started recently giving himself hot spots from licking so much. So, my gramma has been having to put a cone on his neck :rofl

Usually, I try to ignore it, and I get more and more aggravated until I snap at him to stop, and he does. But then about 5 minutes later he starts again. And he leaves big wet spots everywhere he goes from all the damn licking!

Both dogs lick, but one is obsessive about and just makes WAY more noise. I swear he has the biggest, longest tongue ever. :lmao

And if you let him, he'll be OCD about licking you too. Like he has to lick every finger if he licks one, and he does them in order from one side to the other and then back again. :puzz The dog is nuts!

I am right there with you. We have one cat who is a "loud licker" and she always comes into our room right after we go to bed to take her bath. DRIVES ME UP THE FREAKING WALL! That sound just gives me the heebie-jeebies.

one of my parents dogs has a licking OCD, it is horrible. They have tried everything including one of the collars. She just ended up grooming her sister!

OMG we had to kick the dogs out of our room just so we could sleep. I tell you they get way carried away sometimes. But its so annoying!!

One of my cats cannot sit down with me without trying to lick me. I hate when he does that, it's so gross! He's 13 and he NEVER used to be a licker until 2.5 years ago when I moved him out of my parents' house into my apartment. He had another cat who he lived with there, who he used to lick all the time and my theory is that I'm the replacement! I do have another cat now, but the older one can only get in about 3 licks on him before they get in a fight. So it's all me now...gross!
