well, now that jason is checked into school, he was able to finally talk with the detailer and get some details about where we will be going and when.
\
He gets his hard copy orders this week and it looks like we will not be moving to New Orleans, after all. In a way, I'm happy b/c I was really dreading having to uproot again just for a year or two, then move back here and have to go through the hassle of housing and everything. But on the other hand, I was really looking forward to being closer to our families, especially his, who haven't even met Hunter and haven't seen Shelby except once when she was 6 months old. So, I am a little bummed about that, but his mom has promised to fly out here and stay with us for a few weeks hopefully next month. So, I'll feel a little bit better about everything if she's able to at least come see us out here.
Apparently they were able to change his school to a different one that is here instead of in VA :D So, he won't be having to go to VA for the three months that we were told.
He's going to be heading out to Avendale around July of next year, then will be back here around Feb or so. So, he should actually only end up being gone HOPEFULLY about 7-8 months, as long as they don't get extended or anything.
The commissioning of the ship is going to be in Huntington Beach so we may actually take a trip up there for his homecoming in Feb or March of 09 when the ship finally gets out here.
Another GREAT thing is that my mom is selling her house in Jacksonville and will be moving out here to San Diego! :cp She fell absolutely in love with it when she came out here and since we'll be here like a minimum of 4 years, possibly 7 or 8 years if he does shore here, and possibly longer if he does sea here again :nutts she figured she might as well take the plunge to be out here with us. I can't even tell you how absolutely THRILLED I am.
So, that's the plan and hopefully some of you SD gals will be happy that I'm not leaving! (L)
