I'm going to Kidsfest at the Gulf Breeze Zoo Saturday the 13th with a few of the other Blue Angel wives. Maybe some of us from here could also meet up there. It's a more central location in terms of Pensacola and Eglin/Whiting Field, family friendly, stuff to do, a weekend so work/school schedules wouldn't have to be worked around.

We haven't decided on a time, but I was thinking earlier in the morning so it will be cooler. Like maybe 9:30 or 10 am.

Guess we're the only ones. No one else seems interested. U tried to do any weeknight after work with dinner, I've now tried a weekend with a family friendly activity in a more central location for all the bases around here (the zoo is pretty much in the middle between Eglin and NASP). Guess they're just too busy or no one around here wants to meet up....:dunno

I'd like to and dh is up to going too. If for some reason this doesn't work, I'd love to meet Callie... which base to you come to for classes? I think I asked this in the other thread, but I'm too lazy to go looking for it. ;)

I go to Eglin for classes. I usually get out of class by 3:30 in the afternoon.

Well, that's what this is-I've set a place, date, time. I'm going even if no one from here shows up.

But that's kind of a messed up way to look at it. I don't want to keep a day open for a get together that doesn't end up happening. Especially if I'm invited to something else but decline for a get together no one wants to go to. That's not right. Cuz we're not talking like it's a few that want to meet up that night, but it's not everyone so we'll change plans-we're talking like 1 person wants to meet or no one wants to meet up. And if something comes up for that one person, then I'm there alone. And that's pretty messed up when I was expecting a get together.

The only reason I'm willing to stick with this is that it's something I was already planning on going to. It wasn't specifically for a get together.

Was that really neccessary? The point of this thread is to say if u want to meet up or not. Since u never mention if ur even interested in meeting up at all or not, I don't really see the point of ur posts except to sort of antagonize. Maybe it's because it's on line or I'm being sensitive but ur coming off as sort of snotty to me or acting like I don't have the right to expect a commitment to an activity. And I absolutely do-my time is just as valuable as any one else's.

What we've been trying to do here is get an idea of who's interested/is going to go a meet up-not all of them can be something we were planning on doing anyway. Sort of like an RSVP so that if no one is interested, someone isn't left with a ruined night. That's really not too much to ask or a reason to give someone an attitude. I really don't appreciate it.

Looks like we're meeting up at 9 am Sat in the petting zoo part of the zoo-u head left from the entrance once u get in. This way the kids will have something to do while waiting on others and it's a little away from the entrance and exit to be out of the way.

I've got bad news and I have good news...

Bad news: I can't go to the zoo tomorrow because I've got bronchitis.

Good news: I can still on Sunday for coffee, if you'd still like to go. I got some antibiotics and some killer codeine cough syrup today at the flight doc, so I will have been on antibiotics for more than 24 hours on Sunday. Let me know if you still want to meet up, or we can postpone to a later day...

3:30 would work better for me as my cousin's party doesn't even really start until 1 or so. It's a surprise party for his 16th birthday. I'd hate to run out without having been there a couple hours. Even though he probably won't care that we're there, my aunt will.

I know where the mall is, but I haven't been inside in many, many years. I'm sure I can find the carousel though, so that sounds like a great place to meet up! :)
