I found this package (this company offers others as well) that includes EVERYTHING for the wedding (ceremony, reception, cake, a wedding planner to help us, the license, etc etc etc)

what do you think:

we'd get married at cuvier park

I'd check it out and get some reviews before committing to anything.

Just checking. . .I saw someone get scammed out of their wedding by going with a company that offered something like this. Pretty much anyone can do an internet site nowadays! I just wonder why they didn't make theirs look more professional??

It sounds like a good deal, but it doesn't seem to leave a lot of room to personalize things and add your own touches. :dunno I guess if you don't mind that, then it would be ideal.

A lot of the wedding sites that I've visited that have all inclusive packages didn't have real elaborate websites... I would contact the owner and make sure to get everything in writing and adjust the contract as needed. Packages like that make things MUCH easier though!

The place we had ours at had a package, which I was totally thrilled about. Less trying to find people to make the cake, be the bartender and wait staff, the decor for the ceremony, set-up/clean-up, etc. I just brought extra stuff that I wanted included in our wedding and reception. I did have to request to have roast pig brought in from a restaurant, though, because they didn't offer it, and it's a huge tradition in my family to have it.

I can't remember the exact amount of ours to compare, but we're talking about San Diego, so I'd say that that's a pretty good deal, considering it includes food (which is the most expensive part of any wedding), your Wedding Cake (which if you have it done elsewhere, would probably cost a good $300-$400, and maybe even more, especially if it's 3-tiered), Champagne and Personalized Champagne Flutes, Champagne Toast for All Guests (Served), a Professional Photographer & 1 Hr. Photo Package (Ask if you can have the negatives, and if you want more time, ie. 2 hours, see what they charge, how much pics would cost, if they don't let you have the negatives), Reception Set-Up & Clean Up, Professional D.J. Services for 5 hours, Wedding Cameras on Reception Tables, and Garden View Bridal Suite for 2 nights.

I know that when I did the package, they catered to what I wanted, ie. the colors I chose, the theme, so usually they really try to make your special day as less stressful as possible. (Which I was all for, since I didn't live where where we were having it, and I was working over 50 hours/week.)

I'd call them and see if you can go in and have the package explained in detail to you, so you know exactly what you're getting from the food to the photgrapher and DJ.

La Jolla to me is one of the most beautiful areas, which is probably why it's one of the most expensive areas to live in. Definately go to the site where you'll be having the ceremony and imagine having your wedding there to really get a feel for whether you want have it there or not. Good luck deciding, Sweetie!!!

before you sign any contracts make sure you have a list of the things that you want and make sure what they tell you in regards to what you get is in the contract. My sister is getting married in May and she is doing a package type deal. Well the original person she met with told her about all the stuff that came along with it etc....turns out that person doesn't work there anymore and some of the things that my sister wanted are not included! She had been trying to decide between 2 different places and decided to go with this one because of the extra items that the other place did not offer. She was told she would get these items and now she doesn't get them! They also weren't real up front about a service charge fee which is like 15 % on top of the cost of the package as well (which can add up to quite a bit), so watch out for that too. My sister has gotten a few things straightened out with the place she is having hers at, but just make sure you ask lots of questions and get it in writing.

The price actually isn't too bad considering what you get. I know my sister is now at well over 10,000 for hers and it is only for about 65 people. That includes her dress and stuff too.

Becky, actually, it is a GREAT deal if you don't really have the time or don't really want to pick out each thing individual vendor. When we got married I decided to do everything separate(not a package deal)...I LOVED every minute of it, and found it to be so enjoyable :yes
BUT, we also did not have a sit down dinner and that can be real pricy. SO, with the dinner included I think it is a great deal and especially considering the area you are in think they have put together a great package.

I don't know if I would do it. I would especially look into the part about the photographer. From what it says, it would only be for one hour and you would probably have to pay a crapload for extra hours. Just make sure they have what you would want, and see what extra fees you could incurr. I think that it's mainly for people who aren't in the area but are getting married there or just don't have much time to plan anything. If you have the time and would like to plan it, I would plan it yourself or even hire a planner to do it with you. It would definately be cheaper.

There are certain things that look good in the package but like the other girls have said make sure you can tweak the package to put more emphasis on the things you really want... we're well over 10000 right now and cost of living is less in Texas and we're probably going to have less than what you are having... so that's a great deal! Just keep the little things in mind because they can try to screw you on those! Good luck!

Becky when we renewed our vows in the Bahamas all of our stuff was included and it was great. I still got to pick the colors, cake flavors etc....
I say go for it SD is a heck of a lot more exspensive than most places.
We bargain shoped for the actual wedding though.
In 96 I didn't have 5000 in my wedding and we sent out 300 invites and had enough food to feed well over 300 people. If you want tips and such PM me and I will tell you what all we did :D

Since you have some time... can you attend a bridal fair or two? Id be more apt to go with someone I met and talked to in person, vs a website and a phone call.

Damn $7500!!?

The scenery is beautiful though...but that just seems like way too much to pay for a ceremony? :shrug I mean, it's an experience you only remember once, of course, but why not a kick ass honeymoon or something? Your spending that much money on people instead of you guys. That's how I look at it BUT if this is what you want and will be happiest with than go for it!

its not just the ceremony... its the reception/photographer/cake/dj/food/weddingplanner/2 nights @ the hotel/marriage license/ceremony location/cleanup and setup, etc etc

and CLub Med Bora Bora, here we come :)

I'm going to look into different options and see what works best.

we decided on may 12, 2007, though. :)

At first I was like $7500 :wow but I think it's a good deal if it includes the hotel room for two nights, photographer, dj, choise of buffet and in CA where everything is so expensive.

how many guests are you having? b/c i'm having about 135 at mine (mostly his family) and our budget is between 10,000 and 12,000, so far so good about staying at the lower end though. only need the incidentals like the church!!!!!!!!!

I think thats a great deal!! We spent about 4000 on the reception alone and that only was for the room, the food, servers, and a night there. Ours was at the Omni in Richmond, VA and we did get a few REALLY great deals with it because we knew the wedding guy there...but yours in an awesome deal...wish we had thought of something like that!!
Good thing is that you can always save $ on your dress by really looking around...and if you do like we did, then you can save a bunch on your daughters by getting it from a dept. store!!
Good luck and have fun

Wow, there must be so big regional differences because I thought it was pretty inexpensive. IIn the NY tristate area I believe the cost of the average wedding is something around $25K. But that is for around 100 people I believe.
