My OB wants me to do weekly injections of Progesterone. she believes it will help me deliver full term, with my history of pre term labor due to pre eclampsia. Has anyone done these injections? did it help? did you have side effects? thanks in advance :yes

i did the pills with Savannah, Gabe and Chris. Danica is the only one that I didnt. Savannah and Gabe I carried till 36 weeks. Chris went till my c-section day at 39 weeks and Danica, well I wish I would have taken them again. One of those what if things.

Ask and see if you can do the pills. I dont remember the mg's that i took, but it was little ball pills and they were peach colored. I took one 4 times a day, so it was a pain. but it would be better than shots.

ETA: I started on the pills as soon as i found out I was preg. my only side effect was my milk coming in in the early 2nd trimester.

I did the shots for the first 8 weeks, then three prometreium pills every night after that. The shots suck, the leave knots and after a while can be quite painfull. Defintely get the pills or suppositories if you can.

I took a fairly new type of progesterone oil pill called Progoil. Its the only kind of progesterone that my OB would prescribe b/c she said she liked it more and had seen better results with that kind. So, I had to special order it from a drugstore in Roselle, IL since it was so new at the time. This was when I was pregnant with Shelby though so it's been a while and I"m sure it's more readily available now. I used it with both Shelby and Hunter. After having many miscarriages and being told I'd probably not be able to even have a little girl, I carried her to term. So, it's definitely worth a shot.
