Any ideas on how to keep him included and feeling a part of your pregnancy while he's gone?

Lots and lots of pics of your growing belly and see what you can record when he's away such as the heartbeat and ultrasounds

I got him a book for expectant fathers, I take lots of pictures, I also give him updates as things progress and scan the ultrasounds that the doctor gives at each appointment. I was able to see him for 2 weeks he got to see my tummy grow first hand and feel the baby move a ton.

If you ever get to talk to him on the phone you can put the phone to your belly so he can talk to baby, you can play your DH's favorite song's for baby to listen too.

I sent lots of belly pics, ultrasound pics, and if you can record the heartbeat and you can send that too.

When Emily was born and he was on the ship I sent him lots of stuff that said "it's a girl" that he could pass out and stuff.

With Toby, I made sure to take TONS of pics and to send him ones he could actually hold in his hand. And I sent him some shirts that were related to him being a dad (an I (L) hot moms shirt :giggle and a worlds greatest dad shirt--it was close to fathers day) And I made sure that when we found out the sex that he was the FIRST to know and no one else! And when I went to my appointments, I brought a tape recorder with me and would record the heartbeat for him and play it back when he called. I also sent him a couple books and silly things for his future "fatherhood" :giggle

you are in montana right? who do you see? if you go to great falls gyn/ob associates, the midwives there are great and they are so understanding to this kinda situation. they can probably get you recordings of the heartbeat and my midwife (lisa) loved to do ultrasounds so you could get pics from there

i agree with letting him talk to the baby..to this day dh's voice soothes evan so much since he did that.

Go to your nearest Build a Bear workshop (or online) and get a Build a Sound ($8). Take it to your next OB appointment and record the heartbeat on it.

Go BACK to BAB and chose and stuff a bear for DH. Have them put the sound with the heartbeat in it. And dress it up and send it to him. Whenever he presses the sound he can hear the baby's heart.

I was actually gonna suggest that but you took my idea :)
Once you find out the gender you could dress the bear for the gender :)

I sent belly and ultrasound pics. I also got what was happening week by week in my pregnancy and emailed it to him so he could follow along. Congrats on the baby!
