I know I've asked this before but are there any girls here in CT or close to CT?

I'm in NY, CT isn't too far away from where I am, maybe about 2ish hours, I'm not positive. It could be less, probably depending where in CT you're going.

Ahh yeah, then you're probably about 2 hours from me, I'm around the capital, not too far. I have friends that go to school in MA about an hour and a half from me, and I know when I've gone to visit, we've gone to eat in CT, so you can't be too far! :hehe

I know there aren't any USMC bases around here, I think you'd have to go a little bit before getting to any.

Yeah, I believe there are some bases that are around me (and by around me, I do mean you have to drive a bit first!), but no base that he could get stationed at, even if it were a usmc base. I think there's only a few that he could actually be at, because of what he does, but I'm not positive.

How much longer are you going to be in CT?

Ahh, I'm from here, but hopefully I'll only be here till the spring time, depending on how long his deployment really lasts. When he comes home, I'm supposed to move out to Cali, which is where he's usually stationed.

I'm actually going to Salem tomorrow night! I am from Foxboro originally, currently living near Worcester for college. My fiance is a corpsman at the Naval clinic in Newport,RI.

He's there until October 2009, but he is going to be deploying to Iraq in March or so for 8+ months.

Yeah, I didn't want to come home, though I had to since I was leaving again the very next day for a surprise party for my grandpa. I think I partly didn't want to leave because I knew it would be a while before I would get to see him again, get any hugs or kisses from him, etc. Not a fun time. But it is pretty nice there.

What's going on is a bit iffy, since he keeps changing the general plan and thinking he told me, then mentions it in passing, and I'm just like "wait, what?" The general plan (last I knew!) is for him to go back and finish school, whether it's through them or not, I'm not sure right now, then he wants to go back in as an officer and whatnot. He really can't imagine doing a "regular" job, and I can't really picture him doing that, either. Whatever he does decide and end up doing, I'll support him and everything, which he knows.

Worcester is actually fairly close to me, about 2ish hours (probably less). I pass it all the time because my brother lives in Boston, he's been there for about 8 years, he went to school there then stayed.

Newport is gorgeous, I love it there. It's rather expensive, but other than that, it's beautiful! I will be moving with Mike to Newport December 2008 and we'll be living there until October 2009, then off to the next duty station. We are getting married either between December and March. Haven't figured it out yet :rofl

What school did you brother go to?

DH and I are from Maine. We're in SC right now (Nuke school) but we'll be in NY (Saratoga) in 3 weeks for his last part of Nuke school.

I agree, from what I remember, it was pretty expensive. Are you talking about December '08 - March '09?

My brother went to Wheelock College, it's a smaller school, around the corner from Fenway. He's still living there now, around Harvard Square now.

I know Wheelock. I almost went to Simmons College, right next door to Wheelock! Beautiful area.

We will be living in Newport together from December of next year (2008) until October 2009.

That's so funny, my sister almost went to Simmons, too! It really is a nice area. I spent a week there with my boyfriend for his pre-deployment leave, we had a great time. I'm actually pretty lucky, my brother doesn't have his car there, he really has no need to have it and it's just a hassle, so whenever he wants to come home, it's an excuse to go to Boston!

I was actually talking about those dates for your wedding :)

Ohh! :rofl I'm slow. We are getting married before March of this year, since that's when he deploys. We don't have exact dates of his deployment so we can't pick a wedding date yet.

Hehe, that's okay! Are you going to wait till just before he leaves, or a little bit before, once you find out when he's actually leaving.
