So I've been way off track for over 5 years now. All my life ALL i ever wanted to do was be a teacher. I graduated from HS and went to SDSU specifically because of their great education program. My last year of college, after hundreds of hours of tutoring and work with kids and in classrooms and running an after school program and tests and portfolio, some way somehow I lose my steam. I have a slow change of heart and by the end no longer want to pursue teaching. I finish my degree, don't apply for the credential program and go on to work as an Admin Asst. (my second vice being playing with office supplies, :lmao ). Fast forward to now, I am now working as the Executive Assistant for this Charter School and once again find myself in Education....and it feels right:yes. I have made a whole new goal for myself. I am going to quit pursuing a masters in public administration and business, and will now pursue my teaching credentials. I still don't know if I will go into teaching after doing so, but for years now I have felt this is a link I've been missing. I started a goal 10 years ago, and never accomplished it all the way. So I really want that now. I would like to then get a masters in Education Administration after getting my credentials. I don't know how long it will take me since I will have to continue to work full-time, but I'm feeling more confident in my feelings of what I want and what path I am on again.
To start, I am registering to take the CBEST in June and CSET in May, and will study hard and hopefully pass them the first time.
