I just posted a new thread in the pet section about my boss who is a jerk. Today, he made a few choice comments about my cat who is sick with liver failure. He jokingly said that he knows of better ways to make it better right away ie: throw her off the side of the building.

"5 seconds", he said. "It'll be fast!"

Wow, why do I always end up working with insensitive jerks? I don't know how to contain my emotions and not being bitchy with everyone, especially my art director and others that I work with. I feel on edge and that nobody knows what it feels like to have nobody except my cats to call family :(

I don't have family in my state or US, and my DB is in Iraq. How do you guys deal with emotions at the office?

See...this is one of the prime reasons that I am self employed. When you work for most people they think that because they sign your pay check it gives them the right to be an a-hole and I hate it. :yes I hope you feel better soon hun. I'm not good at controlling myself. I've cried my eyes out and cursed out tons of people at work. luckily they are all pretty cool about it.

I just got my year end review for my job from the same f'ing jerk of a boss. He had the nerve to write to meHe wrote that I am

"terrible at communicating with my managers and peers and take on too much, which causes me to lose focus.

He also says that I need to work on my composure and professionalism during deadline driven situations."

Hang on a second, so he's telling me to wash back my stress as an army girlfriend, take on insults about my cat and try to stay CALM??? After working 80 hours a week for 3 months straight, helping the company launch their website and streamlining process.. this is the thanks I get?

I would keep track of all his rude and heartless comments, including the time he said them and take that information to HIS boss.
make a case for yourself saying you feel harassed and it is disrupting your ability to work to the fullest and request that something happen so you can be under better conditions because you do not want to leave the company or your job.

he cant continue to harass you if HIS boss is telling him off... he will get fired.

Unfortunately I work for the "happiest place on earth" and nobody ever gets fired... :( I'll make a list though. That's a good idea.
