my db has been in navy bootcamp for about 20 days now, I have only gotten the first letter explaining what i could and couldn't send. I've sent him a bunch of letters, i know they don't have a lot of time to write or anything, but do i need to send him stamps or anything i haven't gotten anything else. is he going to be able to call me or anything.

They should have access to stamps and stationary while there, but you can always send him some if you want. I don't think I got my first letter until about 2 weeks into basic training (bootcamp for the Army) - and then I was lucky if I got one a week. One thing they do is sometimes they will hold all the mail at the post office on base for about a week and then send it all out at once, so sometimes I'd get 2-3 letters in one day that were from several weeks prior.
I only got 1-2 2 minute phone calls while he was in training - they get them depending on their command, if they're good, if they're lucky, etc...it all just depends - never ever count on receiving a phone call or letter in any given day. It will just drive you crazy.

I mailed hubby stamps, but, he was able to buy them while in boot camp. He called me one time, and that was a total surprise. Good luck!

they only get to write on sundays, and the behavior of the division determines if they can call you or not. they can buy stamps and paper at the NEX. and the mail is SUPER slow in Great Lakes, one time we got a bill after it was due, and the post office handles all of boot camp, housing and the training side. hopefully you will hear something soon.

you'll probably hear something soon...they really don't have a lot of time to write..my DH would sometimes stay up really late and get like 3 hrs of sleep just so he could write me a letter..the biggest thing is just keep writing him...you'll make his time go by faster...i usually got one letter a week...once they started arriving...
