Hey ladies! Dh and I were just talking about bringing the kids to Pensacola for the 11/9-10 performace of the Blue Angels. I was wondering who wants to have a mini gtg that weekend?

We are going to bring our travel trailer up there and stay. I was wondering if there is a campground on base...

Yes there is a campground, and it's actually pretty close to the hangar. I forget what it's called though.

I don't know if I'll be able to meet up. I'll be in VIP seating and will only be able to get enough VIP tickets for family (if we can even get some for them cuz this will be a packed show). Plus it sounds like the wives will be in and out of the hangar all day doing stuff but they haven't told me exactly what yet.

Also, that whole week there are events scheduled for us everyday (well at least DH but I'll be going to some of them too). Saturday after the show we'll be at a end of season party specifically for the Blues. There's a shop party too that we're supposed to go to (not exactly sure when that is though, maybe friday). So I'm going to have a lot of stuff I'm supposed to be going to that we can't bring guests to.

I might be able to meet up Friday before the show (it's a night show, I believe) but I won't be able to pin down any times (if any at all) until we get the schedule for that week...Sorry!!

You know, if I would have been thinking when I was posting this thread I would have remembered all the extra stuff that you'd have to do that weekend! Have fun!

DH usually volunteers out there so I bring the kids and meet him and watch the show.

To answer your question about the campgroup the answer is yes there is one almost directly across from the Naval Aviation Museum. I can't think of the name either but I imagine it will be packed on that particular weekend. I would check the MWR website to see if you could make reservations.

I looked when I was on base today and it's called the Oak Grove Park.

If that one's full, Blue Angel Park has camping as well and isn't that far from the base.
