Is there anything that will be coming out of our pocket? marinewife_sd 10-27-2007, 08:32 PM They covered EVERYTHING for me, with both Nickschic 10-27-2007, 08:32 PM If you are on Tricare Prime you will pay nothing we got no bills for dd. Im not sure about standard. HTH CoffeeGirl 10-27-2007, 08:32 PM They covered everything with me as well:yes Donna 10-27-2007, 08:33 PM IF you are tricare prime, it is supposed to. I am dealing with medical bills up the wazoo that are supposed to be covered and I am still being billed. She was born on May 20th..... it's a PITA. If you deliver at a military hosp, you pay nothing and no medical bills to worry about. MSJackson 10-27-2007, 08:34 PM we have prime. i was told they dont pay for ultrasound pics Donna 10-27-2007, 08:35 PM we have prime. i was told they dont pay for ultrasound pics you will get one u/s done for the entire preg. unless medically necessary. yes, you will get pics from it as well. They gave me 3 ultrasounds so far. One because I was spotting at 6 weeks. They usually do give you two here. One at 12 weeks to confirm your due date and the regular 20-22 week one. We got 2 pics of the baby at 12 weeks and 3 of the baby at 21 weeks. They said they are only suppost to give us one, but my husband was so dang excited I think the lady liked us so she gave us more. Good luck hun! MelissaMc424 10-27-2007, 08:49 PM Everything including my c-section and DD's 4 day NICU stay was covered by Tricare Prime. Tricare standard is different though.. there are copays with it. I had 4 sonograms and got pics with each one. My OB's staff even videotaped the 21 week sono when we found out the gender. harrisonsdream 10-27-2007, 09:00 PM i'm on prime and they cover everything Jennie 10-27-2007, 09:03 PM They've covered everything with mine. I only got one ultrasound at 22 weeks and that was paid for as well. petsparkle 10-27-2007, 09:12 PM Everything was covered for me, including trips to specialists for echocardiograms (x4) and other screenings, etc. The only thing they said you would pay for is if you choose to have a special dinner for the first night after delivery. It was a steak dinner at our hospital so I didn't do it (I'm veggie) but it was going to be like $3 or something tiny like that. If you're in a military hospital they will provide wipes and diapers for you while you're there. Use them all!! They're free after all! Also, they should have manual breast pumps if you want one. I got a $50 pump for free, plus the nipple shields. Saved a ton there. rosebud* 10-27-2007, 09:20 PM that would be kind of difficult here, we really dont have a hospital on base here, just a clinic.but i'm thinking they will refer me to a hospital. If there is no place to see you at the clinic and you get referred to a Civilian OB they still pay for everything. As long as your DR submits it as medically necessary, I had two kids in El Centro, CA and all they have there is a small clinic with no OB. if you have any questions then you can pm me. Dani 10-27-2007, 09:38 PM I am on standard and have had to pay a portion of my lab work and that's it. I think we have paid around $50 out of pocket so far and I am coming into my 31st week. taraw226 10-28-2007, 10:42 AM they covered everything for both my pregnancies (including 2 csections, anesthesiologists and a short NICU stay for my youngest). the clinic here on base doesn't do OB so they referred me to a civilian (woohoo!). with my first i had ultrasounds out the wazoo (first because they couldn't figure out my due date, then because she was so big, plus i had gestational diabetes the last 6 weeks and polyhydramnios/too much amniotic fluid). with my second i have one and a half ultrasounds :giggle i went in for one, the tech said i wasn't 20 weeks (only 17) and she "couldn't see anything" (twit) so i went back 3 weeks later. i DID get some bills from the hospital's diabetes clinic for around $800, but i went to the tricare office and they took care of it. the clinic was stupid, they neglected to bill some stuff and other stuff was either double billed or billed incorrectly. i never had to pay a dime. ETA: i have tricare prime cangelicious 10-29-2007, 01:31 AM I have tricare prime and I went to a civilian obgyn and had all my children at a civilian hospital and ive had several ultrasounds with my last son and tricare paid for everything Callie 10-29-2007, 10:08 AM I have tricare standard. They paid for every visit, ultrasounds. When I had her they paid for everything except around $80. SO I paid $80 out of pocket, but to me it was worth it. |
