Once again...
another time he didn't call.
I told him not to give me a time.
Well he didn't
He said "later today".
Well I guess I'm not spoiled.
I'm getting used to the missed calls...

There is no bright side to this.

That stuff does happen. My DH called 3 nights ago. He was supposed to email me yesterday and he didn't. I was upset, but then he ended up calling me for a 2nd time because he didn't get the chance to email. He was supposed to email me today...didn't. I'm obviously not expecting a 3rd call, but you can't let it get to you that much. They only have so much time to do things. And who knows, he might be really busy.

This is why I don't want DF and I to get into the habit of establishing a "routine" because on either side it is bound to get derailed at some point and it always seems to distress too much then calls are missed or not made.

I really hope he calls you soon, but take it as a small lesson...trying not to set your mind on receiving contact every so often or at a certain specific time (even if he tells you) because this is the military...and situations change like the weather. :yes :hugs

My DH will tell me that he will call me and it will be DAYS before he actually does =(

Hope you get to talk to him soon...I've realized that when Im waiting for a call it usually doesn't come...but when Im busy doing things thats when the phone rings! Go shopping!!! haha...Hope yu hear from him soon...I will be in your boat in about 12 days can not believe it...:whatever:whatever

It might help next time he says he'll call "later today," to just think about it as he'll call when he has the chance. Because I'm sure that's what he means. It helps me some.

When DF was in Iraq, he NEVER said he WOULD call, he always said he would try, so I was never let down if he couldnt. It was such a great feeling when he could call, and I sort of miss those days :wub (L)

I'm to the point where I'm about to pack my bags and go to Iraq just to spend time with my DH, I know he will protect me so I'm not worried :(

Aww! I'm sorry you didn't get a call!! I just had the same thing happen to me tonight...(only as the quotation above detailed, it would have been a "routine" call...completely derailed!)
