So today I was talking to db about when he's going to try to get his r&r. I told him to try to wait until after the 1st week of may so school will be out. Otherwise, I'll get to spend very little time with him. He said there's a lot of people coming home in May, & that he'll try for later in the summer. He said he'll just tell them (whoever them is) that we're getting married, and he needs to be back when I'm out of school. He jokingly told me not to get a summer job--so we can spend all of his r&r together.

We've talked about marriage a lot, and I know we will get married we just aren't officially engaged. I've mentioned before, he told me he's saving for the ring I would like. How much should I read into what he said? He can't just "lie" to the army & say he's coming home to get married can he?

I think he might be hinting. No, he can't just lie to them. There's a lot of paperwork to add you to DEERS, etc. that he has to do, and his command will be involved in that. Some of it he can get prepared before you guys are married, so it's ready to go once you have your marriage certificate. So, if he lied, he's be on the s**t list of a lot of people, plus it's lying to a government organization.

Thats a tough one, he could have just said it to spend more time with you are it could be to get married. I know nothing about the Army only Marine Corps. Good Luck

I know the Army is a little different than the Navy, and they like to know ahead of time when their guys get married. so he can't say he is going to get married and then not.

That is what I was thinking. You need to ask him if you guys aren't getting married what is he going to tell them when he gets back from r&r because someone I'm sure will ask about him getting married. Maybe then you will get your answer.
