View Full Version : question about boot camp mymarine_mylove 10-28-2007, 11:42 PM I'm new to all of this. Are they really different when they come home from boot camp? Devinn 10-28-2007, 11:43 PM yeah they're different....although I dont think its a "bad" different. It just seems they've "grown up" a little bit. billysgirl 10-28-2007, 11:44 PM mine was a dick after boot camp, but we were having other problems :vent anywho, he realized how wrong he was eventually. :teehee anyway, i think mine got really caught up with some of the more shallow guys there. long term he seemed better after the whole experience :dunno AG2Wife 10-28-2007, 11:46 PM my hubby was! he great up alot, he was talking all this navy lingo & stuff rosebud* 10-28-2007, 11:46 PM yes they are different, they went through a life changing process and learned an entirely different way to act, live, and be. mine came home more appreciative. mymarine_mylove 10-28-2007, 11:47 PM I'm just afraid he'll treat me differently... but thanks for taking time to help. barbaram97 10-28-2007, 11:56 PM mine was only a lil different :dunno the only major difference is he wears a uniform now Mosley04 10-28-2007, 11:56 PM I'm just afraid he'll treat me differently... but thanks for taking time to help. i do worry about that too my dh will graduate nov.15 but he wont come home until like april next year after ait. but i am afraid that i will have changed too since i am getting used to him not being hear, know what i mean. i do everything for myself and our kids that he used to do for us. i think it will be harder for me trying to get him back in the mix. i try not to be but sometimes i can be a very controlling person when it comes to certain things.hopefully if your so does change it will be for the better. maybe he will appreciate you more! AG2Wife 10-28-2007, 11:57 PM I'm just afraid he'll treat me differently... but thanks for taking time to help. Depends on the guy... He might treat you with more respect. Some guys have a harder time adjusting, I guess. My advice is work with him, be there for him through his transition, even if it's not the same guy you sent to bootcamp, you'll find love in the new guy that the military created :) Lizieneuf 10-29-2007, 02:33 PM My DH was still my DH, but at the same time a totally different person, he held doors, and wanted nothing to do with anyone but me and his mom.. hes a social butterfly usually! he was totally different, but hes slowly going back to himself now that hes in ait. it was nice to have a gentleman for a short time, but i missed the butthead i fell in love with!! (as stupid as that sounds!) thekels9 10-29-2007, 11:52 PM Yeah....I agree. My DF changed quite a bit....the family day and graduation were quite mind-blowing for me just because he acted so different....and it was like he didn't know how to act towards me in a lot of ways. But then again, the only communication we had gotten was through various letters and once in a while 5 minute phone calls. He's been at AIT now for a month though...and although the first few days of him being able to call were still a little different, now he calls me as much as he can, and it's the same ole guy that he's always been. I'm sure in person he will still act different though. Taressa 10-30-2007, 07:59 AM mine was WAY more respectful that is for sure. but overall he was the same guy deep down. but he was more apperciative of what was around him and what he had with me and our son that is for sure. Scribble 11-01-2007, 11:34 AM The two biggest changes I saw were that DB "grew up" so much after boot camp, and he inhales his food now. :giggle He developed an amazing sense of respect (I'm not complaining with that one), but for the most part he's still DB with all his odd quirks. Loveable, cuddle-able (although a little more muscular than he used to be), and an amazing sense of humor. Lizieneuf 11-01-2007, 02:10 PM DH was already pretty muscular, but now hes getting very defined.. its flippin awesome! hehe Scribble 11-01-2007, 09:04 PM DH was already pretty muscular, but now hes getting very defined.. its flippin awesome! hehe You gotta admit, the new definition they have is just :drool lindsay 11-01-2007, 09:17 PM mmm i can't wait to see DB! his body was already FIIIINE but mmmmmm it's gonna be lookin' good hehe:grin: |
