How was the sauce? I'm not a fan of the mustard or vinegary sauces, the light orange or yellowish ones. I like the southern, smokey ketchupy brown sugary molasses type sauces. So, I'm hoping this is up my ally :hungry

The sauce that RockstarMom posted was really good even though it had mustard, you couldn't tell, and I even added more brown sugar. :giggle

I kind of followed this recipe when I made ribs in the crockpot. I just didn't make my own sauce. I used store bought. :blush

I forgot to update this-

I was NOT wild about the sauce :sigh It was way too ketchupy for me, but the ribs turned out GREAT and I think this would be great if you modified it just a little bit. I would replace one of the two cups of ketchup with a premade BBQ sauce that you like. I think that would work much better :yes

Ah, good call. I prefer the store bought sauce because I'm lazy but now I'm glad you put that up. I have a fresh bottle of Spicy Honey I think I'm going to use. If it weren't 1 pm here already I'd be fixing them for supper tonight :lol

Yeah, if you're not opposed to using a bottled sauce, I think this sauce is a good start but does need some tweaking. Also, be sure not to overcook the ribs b/c I cooked them for about 8 or 9 hours and they ended up being TOO done (they were SUUUUPER tender, but they were so tender that the bones fell completely out and I prefer to still have the bone attached) and the sauce started to get a burnt kind of taste. So, even on LOW, I think you would only need to cook these for MAYBE 6 hours, possibly even 5 if your crock runs hot like mine does.

ANNNND :lol I forgot about this part, I also actually took the ribs out, brushed with sauce, then baked for about 25 minutes at 350 in the oven. I thought that made them MUCH better. It sort of baked on the sauce and the sauce turned into a thicker texture :hungry That part is totally optional but I think they were better that way

The sauce might be better with some liquid smoke in it too... give it a more BBQ flavor. :drool That goes in all my top secret sauces! :shhh
