View Full Version : LSAT USNIwife 10-30-2007, 07:08 PM you took it? did you take a tutorial before hand? Tell me your experience. terpsichore 11-05-2007, 02:51 AM i took the lsat but did not study beforehand. i ended up with a 174 (99th percentile). i have taught lsat prep courses for about five years since and, even though i got away with not studying, most people benefit from (at least) taking a few timed LSAT practice exams before the real thing. some students in my classes have improved as much as 20 points. i would recommend taking a full length practice exam and comparing your score with the average score of admitted students at your preferred law schools (this data is available through the LSAC website under "ABA approved law school data" to gauge whether you need further preparation. let me know if you have any specific questions.. i would be happy to help. If you took it, but didn't study beforehand. What do you contribute to your overall sucess than on the exam if your suggesting that I should take it, whereas you did not?! terpsichore 11-05-2007, 12:48 PM i have always had strong logical/analytical and reading comprehension skills and, historically, i'm a good test taker. because i have scored in the 99th percentile on every standardized test i've ever taken i did not choose to waste the time or money on a course to prepare myself for this test either. but, by definition, nearly all people do not have the experience i had with the LSAT. i'm suggesting that you take one full length practice exam (you can order one from LSAC online for about $8) to see if you fall into the natural test taker category or if you need a little help from workbooks or a course to get closer to the score you need to get into the school you want to attend.
