I will be moving on base there sometime around August/September when DH get back from Japan tour in August and I want to try to make some friends.

Not anymore but I lived there for 2 yrs. I absolutely loved every single minute of it. Its a either you love it or hate it kind of base. I am a city girl and hated it for about a month then learned to enjoy the quietness, the beautiful sunrises and sunsets, enjoy the heat, make friends, volunteer for the units KV makes friends and just keep busy. I miss it there. We lived in Joe Davis housing out in town off adobe road.

I'm going to try to make friends, but I'm also kind of scared because it's the first time that I'll be away from my dad.

I was raised around that area-not in 29 specifically, but around there in general. I liked it then but hate it now cause I have traveled & seen more & now I know better.:lol

Go in with an open mind. Alot of wives hate it becuase they are already expecting a hellhole and just hate it. Like I said before I loved it there, have been around to other cities and bases and still would go back there in a heartbeat. :sigh

And MAGCC is the largest land mass base in the world while Camp Lejeune and Pendelton are tied for the largest number of AD aboard it.

I am as open about it as I can be, I think I will like it once I get used to it.
