My inlaws bought all our furniture (we didn't ask but they bought for my SIL and offered for us, of course we accepted). Our crib was $300 and the mattress was another $75, we got one of those convertible cribs that change into like 5 other different beds. We didn't bother with a dresser, I put all Lydia's clothes in these two rolling plastic baskets that just roll up under her crib. I got those for about $7 a piece and still use them.

Her bedding set cost $90, it came with a sheet, decorative comforter (we don't use it as a blanket, I hung it on the wall), diaper holder, window valance, bed skirt and a fleece blanket (that she does actually use as a blanket). I got that one sale from Overstock.com, it's made by Carter's. I also bought two more sheets for $5 each, also Carter's. That's about it :)

wayyyy too much everything but the dresser came from pottery barn kids...i got a changing table and the crib (i actually hated the crib--and sold it right after she was a year and half..) it was a lot of money..but not worth it.

I got her bedding from pbk--it was just as much as anywhere else i thought, about 150 or so..but i fell in love with it and i'll use it if my next one is a girl..(if i ever do have another kid)

for my next kid, i want furniture from JcPenny's--its not nearly as much as what i paid for at pbk (actually a lot of people helped buy the stuff from there)..

i think total we spent over 1,000 for three things, a changing table, crib, and a few smaller things..

We did second hand. Garage sales ect. I couldn't justify spending $$ on something for just a few years. We spent about $50 on the mattress though. It was worth it.

We bought our dresser/changing table combo from babies r us for about 130ish..We got our glider/ottoman from walmart for 90ish dollars.
How much did you spend on your bedding? Also how many pieces was it? Nothing..we got about 4 sheets from our baby shower and my MIL made the quilt and bought the bumper. We also got 2 mattress pad's from my MIL as well.
Also what was your best deal? Probably the glider/ottoman..It is really comfortable and everywhere else we looked they were over 130 dollars for just the glider.

We have bought just about all of our big items used. I got my crib and changing table/dresser for a STEAL from my neighbor for $100. It is very solid with no marks or dings. Looks brand new. My rocking chair was my grandma's and she gave it to me last year before she passed. My mom is making all the bedding. Quilt, bumper, dust ruffle, diaper stacker & toy bag. I am not sure how much it cost I didn't want to ask her since it is a gift.

Our crib was $250 I think, or bedding $90 and change table was giving to us. My SIL just bought her crib for $1500 (yes you read it correctly, insane I know) and had her bedding coustom made for $300. Crazy

Crib was 89, Dresser 112, Changing table 69, mattress 56....
I found something on walmart that cost less than 100 for a 10 piece bedding set which will be discounted less because DH aunt works at walmart and can it get cheaper with her discount..
