But I'm still waiting on the final word.

I love Sophie the Newfoundland. She was supposed to be a breeder, but is infertile, so she was given to my sisters roommate.

My sister's roommate can't handle the Newfie slobber, all of Sophie's neediness, and her bad back legs. She can't attach to the dog at all, because she still misses her old dog(who had to be put down because of bad legs) who recently died.

My family, however, has fallen head over heals for our Sophie, and my husband took one look at her on the webcam and told me he wanted Sophie.

My sister's roomie is calling the breeders today to see if Sophie can come live with my family. She has already set up a new pack with our Shepherd(Rehn) and our Shiba Inu(Vega). We just can't send her back to the breeders, because she has fallen in so well with the other dogs that when she leaves from her "daycare" here at the house, Rehn and Vega look for her everywhere. The whole family loves this dog.

I just can't contain my excitement. My mom has a really good reputation with the breeders we got Rehn and Vega from. These dogs are NEVER alone, because my mom and sister have an at home business, and because we have an elderly family member who requires constant supervision. This is the perfect place for Sophie to live out the remainder of her life, with her new pack and new family.

I tried telling my hubby that the odds just swung in our favor, but wouldn't you know he was off playing xbox with one of his work buddies on a big news day. LOL. Men have horrible timing.

I just really hope to be able to keep Sophie. As a person who can't stand dog slobber at all, I find it weird that I am not the least bit annoyed when Sophie leaves a giant streak of drool on my pants. I just fell in love with this dog the moment I saw her, and knew I had to have her.

Well, wish the family luck! Hopefully the breeders will approve of Sophie's new situation.

:D :D :D :D

P.S. They are having their first doggie "sleep over" tonight, to see if Sophie can sleep well here.

I never thought I could love a slobber monster, lol, but we made her a bunch of bibs, which seems to be working pretty well!
