Your not really a "mom" until you have had more than one child or you really don't know anything about being a mother until you have had more than one child.
Do you agree with that at all? Just curious.

I definately think you are a Mom if you only have one kid, why wouldn't you be? Some people only ever have one, they aren't any less a parent than I with my 2 kids. I will say that having more than one teaches you a thing or two, but it doesn't make me more of a Mommy, just a different kind of Mommy.
Oh no way! Once you have a kid, even ONE your a mom until the day you die. Having a kid is having kid, what are you if you only have one kid if not a mom??

i think that is a ridiculous statement....you're a "mom" regardless if you have 1child or 15 children...just because you have more children doesn't make you more of a mom...

did a man say that??? what ridiculous nonsense! is that to imply that women who have lost a baby before birth or even after are not mothers? how insensitive! (that's saying alot coming for me!)

I believe you are a mother from that time you get pg. That being said I think you learn something new everyday after you become pg about being a mother. It isn't that I think you don't know anything before you get pg, just that you learn as you go also.

I've never heard anyone say this, btw.
To me, ur a mom as soon as u give birth to a child, even if that child doesn't survive (still birth or dies early on). One child is enough to make u a mom.
The only thing I've heard about parenting in regards to having more than one is that after ur first u have experience under ur belt and u probably won't be as protective and stuff towards subsequent children. There's the whole joke where child number one gets their pacifier santized after every drop on the floor, child number 2 gets a rinse after the pacifier drops on the floor, child number 3 just gets the pacifier put directly back in their mouth after if falls on the floor that demonstrates this idea. I've heard new parents are overly concerned with doing everything perfect with their first and then as more children are born they "learn" they don't have to be such a perfectionist about everything for the kids to turn out great.
