Good afternoon ladies,
We have welcomed quite a few newbies over the last few weeks, so I'd like to take this time to please ask everyone (new members and our old salty ones :P ) to please check signature sizes.
I've come across quite a few over the last few days that are enormous. So, please, if you have any questions about whether yours is within limits, ask a mod or check it using the guidelines below.
Thank you! (L)
Signatures
Signatures are enabled for all members but please be sensible and follow the signature guidelines. We have a wonderful feature called a userpage where you can add all of the information and items that can’t be put into your signature.
The following signature guidelines are in place and will be very strictly enforced:
* No “slideshows” (this includes any type of banner, block or cube that rotates pictures) of any type. I know they are fun and seem like a good way to fit multiple pictures into your signature, but they make the posts load slowly and cause some people’s computers to freeze.
* Signatures for standard members must be 600x250 (600 pixels in width by 250 pixels in height) or less. Signatures for Jewels must be 600x500 (600 pixels in width by 500 pixels in height) or less. That means ALL text, graphics and pictures must fit within that area. For more information and examples of what is acceptable, please see our signature guidelines (http://forum.militarysos.com/showthread.php?p=683619) in the Help Desk section.
* Links in signatures must follow the guidelines outlined in the Advertisements and Linking section.
No scrolling (marquee) text.
* Tickers must count up (how long your loved one has been gone) not down (how long until they return. Dates of return are considered OPSEC violations.

This is intended to give you an idea of what the allowable signature sizes are. To easily compare sizes, to make sure your sig is within limits, simply open a new window and put them side by side to check your sig versus the size of these pics.
Standard (non-jewel) members should be 600px width by 250 px height or less:

Jewel members should be 600px width by 500 px height or less:

Keeping your signature within the alloted size keeps our forums running and loading quickly so we can all post without any lags. Thank you for your understanding!
