I want to get a Deployment Sisters going. Instead of being a "secret" sister, we will know who our Sisters are. These are supposed to be more like Pen Pals than temporary Sisters.
Therefore it will be a long running Pen Pal. We'll start it in about a week & go through the end of May or as long as you want to corespond with your pen pal. Of course, if you guys think this will be too long, we can always do it for a month at a time & then extend it for those interested! Let me know what you guys think!!
Because it is so long running, you have to be very serious about this!
Hopefully these rules will answer any questions! If not, please don't hesitate to post in this thread or PM me! :)
The Rules are as follows:
1. You may only participate in the Deployment Sisters if you have atleast 500 posts. The only exception to this rule is if you are new to the group but have a reputable member who knows you IN REAL LIFE that can vouch for you!
2. You must have a SO who is currently deployed, in boot camp or school or will be leaving to one of the above by January 1st.
3. If you plan to participate but will be offline or out of town for a bit, please let your sister know!
4. You are responsible for contacting your sister and to send email, snail mail etc. It doesn't have to be anything big. So don't worry if you feel that you can't participate due to money. Being a sis means making the other person feel special and to pay attention to them. However you are more than welcome to send her gifts, cards, etc if you can! Receiving mail (even just a post card) during a deployment is sometimes enough to brighten someone's day!
5. While you are not required to send your Sis gifts on a regular basis, please do try to send her a small something around her Homecoming date! This is merely a suggestion!
6. You may NOT participate in this if you have any negative feedback such as not fullfilling your obligations in other Secret Sister swaps.
7. If you for one reason or another you cannot continue during this round let me know so that I can reassign your sister to someone else. Life happens, and everyone understands that.
8. Send a form of contact (email, e-card, pm, etc..) at least three times a week and let me and/or your sister know if you can't do this for some reason. Not once a week, or once every other week! THREE TIMES A WEEK!
9. Acknowledge whoever is sending you things. It is just as frustrating to send out emails etc and not to receive a reply back in return.
10. You are more than welcome to join even if your deployment, tour, etc end during the alloted time! However you must continue to corespond with your Sister through the remainder of her seperation or until the end of May.
11. Please do not fill out the questionaire & mail it to me! When I get the list completed & everyone matched up, I will post who everyone's Sisters are. It is then your responsibility to PM the questionaire to your Sister!
