Over intersession (December 26th-January 23rd) I'm taking Psychology of Women. I love taking Intersession classes! They are so fast-paced and help stack up your earned credits! :five I am not sure what classes I am going to take yet for that! Rileysmom 11-06-2007, 03:20 PM American Intercontinental University. Online courses, but they are pretty spendy... It's something like 300-400 per credit, so about $1200 per class. Is that about what you are paying now at your school Kara? Butterfly Lvr 11-06-2007, 03:20 PM What's AIU? Sorry I'm nosey! I'm looking for more online classes. No thats ok.. AIU is American Intercontinental University. I have heard nothing but bad news about that school and its accreditation (?).. A friend of mine went there and just graduate in MAY. She hated it. My classes here are $720 for a single summer/intersession course. And it will be $180 at Coastline and free books! By the way, does Coastline have summer courses? piggypunkinetta 11-06-2007, 03:32 PM Right now: Econ 121 Multimedia 101 Algebra 095 (:pukey) CBTE 161 Biology-The Environment of Man Principles of Information Systems Next semester so far for sure: Multimedia 112 Math 096 (:pukey) English 101 (yes, I'm at a Jr. level and still haven't taken it! :roflmao) Drama150 Of course, this can all change. Online courses, but they are pretty spendy... It's something like 300-400 per credit, so about $1200 per class. Is that about what you are paying now at your school Kara? Wow, that's very pricey. I would never spend that. I'd rather take it at my college and pay $720! My tuition for a year is about $20,000, including room and board. I haven't ever really had to pay, it is all scholarships and a few small loans. Rileysmom 11-06-2007, 03:33 PM Lulu, have you used any of the online tutoring for math at all? Rachael 11-06-2007, 03:34 PM I feel ya! I will probably be in school forever! I get so burnt out, but then when I take a break, I crave being back again! :teehee We have free tuition at the CC, so I figure why NOT take as many classes as possible! Are you enrolled at AIU yet? thats awesome you get free tuition there! why not take advantage of that! :) Im hoping at the beginning of the year to be enrolled...I just need to do a little more soul searching and know what I am going to do to actually USE my masters degree. It wont mean that much more at the place I am at now... piggypunkinetta 11-06-2007, 03:36 PM Lulu, have you used any of the online tutoring for math at all? I didn't, I almost did when I was studing for the Math 96 final. I took both 95 and 96 at city so I had to take the final in person. It sucked because the final was way off from the homework we did in class. With statistics I am planning on taking it a miramar so I can take the final online. I wish I would have know that with 95 and 96. Rachael 11-06-2007, 03:37 PM No thats ok.. AIU is American Intercontinental University. It's an excellent school American InterContinental University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award Associate, Bachelor's and Master's degrees. It sucked because the final was way off from the homework we did in class. With statistics I am planning on taking it a miramar so I can take the final online. I wish I would have know that with 95 and 96. I found a self-paced math 095 and 096 courses online. They are self-paced, ten hours a week, completely online, so I am taking those. They aren't listed in the schedule for some reason, but when I emailed a teacher asking about my options he told me. I think they are through Miramar, so maybe it's the same ones you are talking about too (I haven't started either of them yet). I got an email back about Ryan getting help for Pre-Calc though, so thanks again for posting about the tutor! :five Butterfly Lvr 11-06-2007, 03:43 PM what did she hate about it? It's an excellent school American InterContinental University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award Associate, Bachelor's and Master's degrees. All she would tell me was that she had come really crappy professors that had no idea what they were talking about and that it sounded like they were just picked up off the street. She also mentioned that right before she graduated the school was being told that they would be losing their accreditation and that her diploma would be nothing more than a pretty piece of paper. I just found out this week that I am attending their sister school... CTU.. I guess they have the same layout and stuff!!?!??! USMCSGTsGirl1239 11-06-2007, 03:46 PM Are ya'll CLEP'ing or DSSTing anything?? I guess they have the same layout and stuff!!?!??! wow...well I havent attended there in about two years I think, but I really enjoyed it. I did have a couple crappy professors, but they were at least at a masters level or doctorate. You probably will have a simliar layout, if they're sister schools. Have an open mind, you really might like it (L) Rileysmom 11-06-2007, 03:49 PM Are ya'll CLEP'ing or DSSTing anything?? The only classes I can CLEP are ones that I already have credit for. :td I took the practice test for math and :freakout, not gonna happen! :lol :anon Kara 11-06-2007, 03:51 PM Trey- One of the classes I want to take through Coastline says Course Description Examination of human development from conception through adolescence. Includes the biological, psychological and sociocultural aspects of the maturation process. (CAN FCS 14) This course is for Onshore and GoArmyEd students. Does that mean I can't take it? Since it's for Onshore & GoArmy students? By the time I register, I'll be a military spouse so I'm going through their military spouse program Butterfly Lvr 11-06-2007, 03:51 PM wow...well I havent attended there in about two years I think, but I really enjoyed it. Have an open mind, you really might like it (L) I do (L) it. I graduate with my Associates in June and have already locked on tuition prices from last year for my Bachelors if I choose to go further. I did have a really bad experience with one professor but got an A in the class. So I just voiced my concerns to my SA and made sure that the Dean was aware and moved on .. Thats great, most people dont voice their concerns and thats how these idiots keep teaching :lol :hugs Congrats on your upcoming Associates degree! Butterfly Lvr 11-06-2007, 03:55 PM Thats great, most people dont voice their concerns and thats how these idiots keep teaching :lol :hugs Congrats on your upcoming Associates degree! Thank you Very Much... I am very excited Rileysmom 11-06-2007, 04:22 PM Kara, I am not sure, I haven't gone there before. But I do know that most of the programs that I qualify for as a spouse are called names like that. "Active duty servicemember discount" and "Military Student Program" are some of the programs I am in, but I qualify as a spouse. I would email that school and ask directly. If I were to assume, I would assume that it's for guys who are not deployed/on a ship. Ryan has a few classes like that, and there are different programs. Like some are distance learning, but meet at say 4pm every day online, so guys that are on ships can't do that. Then there are other courses that are self-paced, where they do the work entirely on their own and just turn it in by a specific date. So maybe that's what it's referring to? harrisonsdream 11-06-2007, 04:25 PM i'm doing child development this 9 week session. dunno what i'm taking yet next session USMCSGTsGirl1239 11-06-2007, 04:25 PM The only classes I can CLEP are ones that I already have credit for. :td I took the practice test for math and :freakout, not gonna happen! :lol :anon That's sucky, I'm sorry :hugs I'm going though American Military University (online) and Thomas Edison State College because they let you transfer all kinds of stuff in, and so I can get done really really quickly.
