I wanted to share my ever growing list of activites, ideas, and themes. Some of these sites give you the whole theme with activities and some just the activities you can incorporate into your own curriculum. Most is for ages 1.5-5 and all of it is FREE! Hope this helps :D

Here is a website that I LOVED when I did daycare. Just pick a theme each week and do several activites from that theme each day. Its amazing how much they learn :D oh and yes when we did colors I did dye their food that color. They had an entire plate of blue food :giggle Eggs are a bit tricky to dye but it works, pasta is great! Try to pick fruits and veggies that are already the color of the week. I guess eggplant :puke but there are some fabulous Japanese potatoes that are purple. The kids love the new foods even if they just play with them the first few times. Even though most of my kids knew their colors they had a blast with the activites. Most of the time I did a number, letter, color, and a theme each week.

I also taught baby sign. The kids had so much fun with it even if they could talk! Start with words that they use several times a day like eat, drink, sleep, please, help me, thank you, yes, no, more, all done....Here are a couple of sites I used
Born to sign (http://www.signwithme.com/search_dictionary.asp)
ASL (http://commtechlab.msu.edu/sites/aslweb/browser.htm) not totally kid friendly words but useful in its own way

For the little ones who still eat things, have them color or finger paint with pudding or jello.

You can also help your older ones with spelling by having them practice their spelling words in pudding on the table :D

Wow thanks! I just went to letteroftheweek.com and totally got into their lesson plans! It's naptime and I already made up our This Week learning board, and filled with stuff for the first week's lesson plan!

Cool!
