SEATTLE -- A man is permanently disfigured and a woman is under arrest after deputies say she bit the man's lower lip off while kissing.
King County Sheriff's spokesman John Urquhart says the deputies were called to a house in the White Center neighborhood around 11:30 Monday night and found a 49-year-old man sitting on the front steps of the porch. He said the woman inside had just bit his lip off. Deputies noticed most of his lower lip was missing.
He said he and his ex-girlfriend were kissing in the bedroom when the attack occurred. The victim told deputies they kissed several times when suddenly, without provocation, the woman bit off his lower lip and spit it out.
Deputies went inside and arrested the 44-year-old woman, but not before she tried to assault a deputy with a pillow. Urquhart says the woman appeared to have been drinking.
Further investigation revealed the two had dated in the past but were now "just friends", according to the victim.
Deputies located the lip on the floor next to the bed, covered with hair. They later determined the hair was likely from a cat.
The victim was taken to Highline Hospital for treatment. Doctors told deputies they were unable to reattach the lip and the man will be permanently disfigured. The woman was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of domestic violence assault.
