Devinn 11-07-2007, 06:10 PM :waiting rosebud* 11-07-2007, 06:12 PM :taptap Teresa 11-07-2007, 06:14 PM :lol Sorry, my daughter started screaming from the other room :nutts You girls are quick :thumbsup sunshyne 11-07-2007, 06:14 PM $2 - $5 depending on how much groceries I have. If I have just a few groceries then I tip 2 bucks...if I have alot usually 4 or 5 bucks. rosebud* 11-07-2007, 06:16 PM I put other. 1) depends on the bagger. 2) amount I have. usually one cart i give 1-2 bucks. 2 or more carts then anywhere from 3-5 bucks when I am at "home" i give more because they will unload your groceries from your cart, to the belt for you.. lisa0323 11-07-2007, 06:38 PM I usually tip $2. If I have a ton of stuff then I tip more. On my regular weekly trips though it is usually $1-$2 depending on how much stuff I have. AirForceWife84 11-07-2007, 06:39 PM I tip $1-$3. Lol. And I thought it was funny you asked this. I was actually thinking about it yesterday as I was walking to the car with the bagger. Lol. Felicia 11-07-2007, 07:05 PM I put $3-$5, thats how much I tip when I do my regular grocery shopping, but if I just go to get a few things then its less. =Mrs.AiNokeA= 11-07-2007, 07:06 PM None... I hardly ever go there if ever and DH and I always take out our own bags. CoffeeGirl 11-07-2007, 07:21 PM $3-5 Sarah 11-07-2007, 07:24 PM Anywhere from $2-$3 Rach 11-07-2007, 07:34 PM I would always tip $1 per person bagging except the person who brings out the cart- then I would give him $2. MontanaSweetie 11-07-2007, 08:10 PM We usually tipped $2 when we shopped there. Miranda 11-07-2007, 08:17 PM I usually tip 5-10 depending on the bagger. Every now and then i slip a 20 or 50 if im feeling a good deed :yes It seems i always feel my good deeds at the commissary :giggle its either there or in line at fast food, I pay for the peoples order in the car behind me and just tell the person working the window to tell the people to have a blessed day. =Mrs.AiNokeA= 11-07-2007, 08:20 PM I usually tip 5-10 depending on the bagger. Every now and then i slip a 20 or 50 if im feeling a good deed :yes It seems i always feel my good deeds at the commissary :giggle its either there or in line at fast food, I pay for the peoples order in the car behind me and just tell the person working the window to tell the people to have a blessed day. Awww you are so sweet. :lovestruck Shannon Marie 11-07-2007, 10:25 PM if i have a lot of groceries i'll tip around $5 but other than that about $3. I wish i could give them more because I know they work for tips but sometimes it just isn't going to happen.:dunno Rain. 11-07-2007, 10:27 PM Depends on how many groceries I bought. The most I ever gave was $10. It was a few days before Christmas & my dh had just gotten home from his last deployment so I was in a giving mood. Aundi 11-07-2007, 10:27 PM Other.......I never shop there:D Rileysmom 11-07-2007, 10:29 PM $2 - $5 depending on how much groceries I have. If I have just a few groceries then I tip 2 bucks...if I have alot usually 4 or 5 bucks. Exact same here. MIKOSWIFEY 11-07-2007, 10:31 PM Never shop there, but why in the heck would you tip them and not a bagger at any civi store? They get paid an hourly wage, do they not? Kris 11-07-2007, 11:03 PM It all depends on how much I spent, how the bagger did etc . Shep's Wife 11-07-2007, 11:04 PM nada, I dont shop there anymore. They dont have what my family needs. Miranda 11-07-2007, 11:11 PM Never shop there, but why in the heck would you tip them and not a bagger at any civi store? They get paid an hourly wage, do they not? No commissary baggers do not get paid hourly wage (it says on their name tags they only work for tips). So the only way they make any money is from whatever ppl tip them. Where in a regular store a bagger is paid, hired, employees. flangl18 11-07-2007, 11:16 PM I tip 50 cents a bag or $5 max. MelissaMc424 11-07-2007, 11:45 PM No more than $5.. BLBnJVB3 11-08-2007, 07:31 AM I tip what I believe to be a good amount since I get alot when I go. I was just there yesterday and I got 2 grocery carts. Well, one didn't have that much cause it had both boys, Evan in the carrier. I tipped her 5. I tipped 7 one time cause I had to park far away, had a bunch of groceries, and it was case lot sale day. I knew she was probably going to be pulling her hair out that day so I wanted to make part of it good. Oh it was also pay day and the 3rd was on Sunday so Social Security was paid that day, too. I knew it would be a craaaaazy day for her. BLBnJVB3 11-08-2007, 07:34 AM No commissary baggers do not get paid hourly wage (it says on their name tags they only work for tips). So the only way they make any money is from whatever ppl tip them. Where in a regular store a bagger is paid, hired, employees. At ours there is a huge sign over the cash registers that they work for tips only. I've talked to alot of the ones here and they tend to be spouses of AD or retired military, high school aged kids of AD or retired, or retired themselves. sandykay 11-08-2007, 07:42 AM normally $2 or if I go through the express lane and carry the bags myself, the just the coin change I get sandykay 11-08-2007, 07:43 AM Never shop there, but why in the heck would you tip them and not a bagger at any civi store? They get paid an hourly wage, do they not? Here I know theat the baggers only get tips cause the have it written on their uniforms rosebud* 11-08-2007, 07:53 AM Never shop there, but why in the heck would you tip them and not a bagger at any civi store? They get paid an hourly wage, do they not? they are not DECA workers, that is also why they can't go into the store to replace items. ( found that out one day :mumble) they get no wage, they work for tips only.. but most of the time they can set their own days and hours. angel91886 11-08-2007, 08:03 AM I voted $1-$3. Sometimes though it is more if I have a lot of stuff. sgmwife1 11-08-2007, 08:07 AM 5-10 depending on the load. brentscrystal 11-08-2007, 08:38 AM I used to tip .50 per bag until we moved here. The individual bagger doesn't keep his/her tips. They get pooled together and divided which really irritates me. I now only tip up to $4. I know that sounds awful, but I can't believe that they have to do that with their tips. I've had some really great baggers and then I've had some awful baggers. Why should the great bagger get penalized for nothing and the bad bagger get a boosted tip? I think they should be able to keep their own tips (IMO). Does anyone else's commissary do this to their baggers? wb3690 11-08-2007, 12:25 PM depends on what I spend and if they carry out. If I spend over 100.00 I tip 5.00. If I spend over 150.00 I tip more......it really does also depend on the amount of bags. I'm a pretty good tipper and don't mind. Jillove27 11-08-2007, 02:15 PM I always want to take the bags by myself. I don't really need any help. But DF said this is the only way they make $$ so we let them ... Is that true? harrisonsdream 11-08-2007, 02:25 PM i don't normally shop at the commy anymore BUT....i usually only tip if the person is fairly old or it's gross out. i don't like not being able to take my own cart without the disgruntled looks and mumbles Teresa 11-08-2007, 03:02 PM The individual bagger doesn't keep his/her tips. Yesterday I accidentally tipped my bagger $8 instead of the $4 I thought I gave her. Apparently I gave her a $5 and two dollar bills instead of three ones :duh carmel11725 11-08-2007, 03:56 PM this is new and wierd to me lol. i had NO clue you had to tip people at the commy, of course, i'm not married yet and don't live on base. but this is so wierd to me...where i shop, nobody tips, even if they take you cart out to the car for you. Man, im always learnin something new! sweetpea20 11-08-2007, 10:22 PM Usually $3 if I have more than my normal or the bagger is extra friendly I might throw another buck or two their way ;) Steph* 11-09-2007, 01:29 AM Thank goodness for our self-check out. I tip myself $5 every time. Theresa 11-09-2007, 04:18 PM If I spend over $100 (typical) I tip $5, anything under I generally tip $3. However, that is dependant on how big of a douche my bagger is. If they flip their cell open the moment we walk out of the store and gab the entire time they are loading my car, I'll hand them a dollar, if anything. You can at least say hello to me and acknowledge that I'm there paying for your wage. :lol SoldiersWifey25 11-19-2007, 01:20 AM Anything under like $40 bucks I do myself, $40-$75 I tip like $3 and anything over $75 I just usually give an automatic $5 |
