I signed up for my spring classes this morning and also switched my major! :wow
I switched from Special/Elementary Education to Social Science Education! So... future History teacher here I come! I am sooo excited!!! I am such a history buff and I think this is the right decision for me! I could have done the entire Special/Elementary Ed degree at my local college through the University of West FL so I settled for that rather than having to travel to Tallahassee to Florida State the last 2 years (yea and Im a Gator fan too :P) I talked it over with DH and he told me to go for my dream and we would work it out when it came to that point. Tallahassee is about an hour from me so it would be a commute to classes. Im hoping to take some of those online and of course I can student teach here in this area. But anyhoo, I still have about 1.5 years before I have to worry about all that since this is just my 1st semester in college!
I am doing really well in all my fall semester classes and I am so proud of myself thus far!
Spring Term I will be taking:
World History 2 (Enlightment period-present)
Math 1033(2nd half of my remedial algera classes alteast this section I get 3 credits for... elective credits but still credit which is better than the 5 non credited hours Im taking now)
English 1102
Introduction to Education

Awesome! It sounds like you're really following your heart - you'll be so much happier doing that than settling for something else! Good luck in your classes! :goodvibes

Thanks Girls! I am really excited about the end result!!! :D
My DS's Christian school only goes to 8th grade right now but they are really pushing to make it go through highschool. I am crossing my fingers because I know I would have a job thanks to going there myself when I was a kid and my mother in law teacher there... I would be so happy there. I have a few years to go though ;)

What subject did you teach?
I was going to be a special ed teacher, but I also believe teaching a specific subject I love would be more enjoyable. If I enjoy what I do wholey it will reflect in my teaching I believe. :yes

Awww thanks Kara! I told DH I didnt know if I would because I am not that knowledgable on current affairs and everything right now. He assured me that 1 semester down in college an 1 history class wouldn't teach me everything :lol I just figured a history major would know all that already! I will just read up on everything and try and become as knowledgable as I can.
