I have a BIG BIG BIG decision to make right now. :freakout BIG.

I have a HUGE opportunity. Something I've been waiting for, for a very long time.

But now that it's here, I don't know if I can do it.

I'm giving myself two days to think about it before deciding for sure.

I feel almost sick with anxiety and excitement :lol

I've been offered a very good job, with a very good company, with a salary that I don't think I'm even worth in the working world. It's with a company that does not typically do much telecommuting work but because of the position, I would be able to work from home.

However, due to the nature of the job and how busy I would be, I would have to put the kids in some sort of care while working.

I don't have an option to go part time right now, it's a full time position.

We do not need the money, we are not in dire straights or anything, but this type of position with this type of company with this type of salary is something that I don't think will come back around.

I have decided I can not accept though. I have thought very long and hard about it and I've weighed the good aspects with the bad ones. MY heart and my instinct tells me I should not take this position right now. I know right now that I would feel a great deal of sadness and regret if I put my children in daycare to work if I don't need to work. So, although part of me is very sad, I know that this will be the decision that will be easiest to live with, by a long shot.

One day, several years from now, maybe I'll get another offer like this. I really feel that the chances of that happening are slim :lol but that is the chance I'm willing to take. I just want to be home with my babies while they are still babies. They grow too fast as it is, I'd be a mess if I knew I was missing things with them. PLUS, Jason will be leaving in 6 months for almost a year, then he'll still have a very hectic schedule for two years after that. I just don't think it'd be a good idea to jump into something like this when the kids will already be dealing with a lot of change.

So, that is my decision and I do feel confident in it being the best decision right now. I do feel a little sad about it though.

I know the feeling. Right before I left Canada, I was offered a GREAT job, a dream job for me. It was a whole package; salary, quarterly bonuses, chance for growth, ect...
But as much as I wanted it, I just knew it was not right for my family. I have done the daycare thing and it just was not right for us.
The job I have now is a major pay cut, but I get to be here with my daughter and I am here with my boys when they get home. I am the one to take elly to ballet and the boys to karate.
You know your family and what is right.

I'm glad you went with what your heart told you to do Brandi! I'm sure something equally as great will come around for you again in the future. You are so right that if you can comfortably afford not to work, its so worth it in order to have that time with your kids!
