What are other ways of keeping in touch besides email.
Do any of your guys or gals have a cell that they use w/ international calling? I know to some this might be a dumb question, but this will be a tad different for me if he goes. He's been deployed but always on a ship. In a year he might be going over to IA and I just want to be prepared. He starts looking at orders next month.

I have been VERY lucky, my dh has an office and has a dsn # that I can call / he can call almost daily!

When DH was gone we chatted online on a site like Yahoo. Other than that we e-mailed and he got calling cards.

My Husband has always had access to email and phones.

Ok, he's in communications and when he''s on the ship, he calls. Maybe he'll have the same opportunity.
Thanks for all the info. He wants and I Phone. We only have a pay as you go, but if he could use a company that has international calling like AT&T I might consider it for him. It's really expensive.
