I didn't think he'd like them b/c he wouldn't touch them for the first few days, but now he does seem to like them. I had to lock them in his crate with him though before he'd start chewing on them. He seems to like them now though so hopefully this will help with his urge to chew. We also picked up this beef flavored bone that is specially made just for teething puppies, and he went to town on that sucker. We got one of the huge ones b/c he's a big pup with a big mouth, and he chewed that sucker done to nothing in about two days :nutts They are only around $4.95 though so it'd be worth it to pick one up each week for him if it'll help with the chewing. He doesn't like the hooves as much as the bone but I'll probably keep a few of those around also just for a little bit of variety. I'm just glad we found something he likes!

Yeah you can get the hooves in a value pack too, check big lots for them too. Also Sow's ears are great for them too. I hope that gets him to quit chewing everything in the house now.

:yes My dog is little but he likes the ears ALOT...I think the hooves are probably too big/too tough for him.

Sow's ears.... are those the same as a pig ear? Is that something I can give to a puppy?

i've given my dog a pig ear before. she didn't like it as much as rawhide. i think cow hooves would be too hard for her.
i've always given my dogs the trimmings from my horses' hooves whenever i had the farrier out. the doggahs always loved them.

I'm writing these things down b/c I went through a whole huge isle of chew stuff in petsmart but couldn't decide which would be best for a teething pup, so I just bought a few things that I thought looked good. I will have to jot this stuff down and take it with me next time. I like having a stash of stuff here at the house b/c he seems to be plowing right through these chew things :lol

Just be sure to take it and other rawhide away from the dog once it's gets too small, and remove any small pieces that they break off. Those kind of things are really bad for dogs.
