I am thinking about becoming a MT so I can work from home and was wondering if anyone here does it or knows anyone that does. Also if you know of any legit places to take the course through. I have looked into Career Step but was wanting to have options.

You might try a Community College near you. Sometimes they office courses for Medical Transcriptionist. Also a medical terminology class wouldn't hurt.

First, do you have small children at home? Transcription is VERY hard to do when you have kids at home.
I do transcription from home, and I usually can only do it when my son is at school, or if my husband is at home to watch him in the evenings.
Here's a couple links I found:

Career Step seems to be one of the best one's out there though.
I know that the college here in my town offers a Medical Transcription course online, so I would think a local college where you live would have something similiar.
Here's the link for my college's MT program just so you can get a general idea.

Good Luck! I do insurance transcription right now, but if you have any further questions, feel free to let me know! :)
