So I'm 4 days late and I have a question, how long should I wait before I buy a test? Those things are too damn expensive to get one too early for a negative. When should I take a test? Is there a certain time line to wait before testing? Thanks Ladies!!

well, I took a test and it was negative so I'll try in the morning to see what I get. Keep your fingers crossed please. I'm sad but I hope and pray I get a positive in the morning!!:(

Well I took one this morning too and it was still a negative :( I still haven't got my period yet and I have no signs of getting it. I guess I'll give in a few more days to see what happends. My period has never been this late unless I was preggo. So like I said I will wait a few days and then see, if it still comes back negative and I still haven't got my period then I'll have to make an appointment with the clinic for a blood test. Just wanted to offer some experience, My period was 14 days late when I got my first positive I had 5 negatives before that. But I just KNEW I was pg. You could always do a walk in at your drs. office also.

I wasn't even supposed to fertile til april 11-16 but now that I was so late I don't know how to calculate when I'm fertile now. Can anyone help me. Finding your fertile time can take time and a few months. WHat is the usual length of your cycle? day of period til day of next period. Are you regular each and every month? I would buy some ovulation predictor kits and start using them on day 9 of your cycle to find the day you ovulate. If I remember right you said you thought you ovulated early march. Why did you think this? Did you do the predictors? Did you have signs? Punching it into a website will give you an estimate is all. You really need to get in tune with your body. I suggest a book called taking charge of your fertility. This book is really a good book for figuring things out. I also suggest keeping an eye on your cervical mucus. You want it egg white consistency. Stretchy, clear and elasticy...If you have a regular 28 day cycle it is likely you ovulate on day 14, day 15 for a 29 day cycle etc etc and no telling if you are irregular. And even then it is just an estimate.

Buy the predictors. STart testing on day 9. Read the directions because they are much different then pregnancy tests. They will always have 2 lines on them. You are looking for the 1 line to be as dark or darker then the control line. This indicates you should ovulate in 12-48 hours. At that point start doing the deed every day or every other day.

I am regular and I went online to see when an approx time for me to be fertile would be by my last period. I put feb25th b/c that was the first day of my last period until today of course. It's said that with me having a 30day cycle I would fertile about April 5-10. So that's what I was going on. I've never been late (expect when pregnant) until today. That's why I was confused. My husband and I are just going to do what we do and if it happends it happends when it does. He goes out to sea end of April so we'll try at the beginning of April just for fun and then we'll keep going when he comes back sometime in September. Thanks for all the help. Just trying to get you more familair with your cycle. You had said your fertile time was March 5-11 And your period due on The 25th of March and that your dh didn't get home til the 22nd in a previous post. I dunno if he was home for your fertile time but if not then your period coming makes sense. And it being late could be a number of factors.

I just know that over the course of the years I tried for E I learned my body extremely well and I can now tell my fertile time just by the signs my body gives off.

In any given month, even if your fertile, you have sex at the right time, the sperm are there, you ovulate etc there is only a 25% chance you can conceive. Getting pregnant is alot harder then what they used to portray in sex ed and what not. So, to me, knowing my body was very important. Not to mention the infertility problems I have/had ;)
