He will call back when he gets time. Ft. Leonard Wood is pretty relaxed from what I hear, but it really doesn't matter. I'll probably get some :grumpy looks, but it's really not our place to call them when they are at reception/basic/ait/anything.

good tip! ill have to do that b/c my DH is in Basic right now & im always scared im gonna miss a call lol:D

My boyfriend is there now. If he called from a phone card (probably the case) you won't be able to call back anyway. If he called from his cell, they probably have it locked back up by now, etc. It isn't worth it, just try to wait it out.

how long does it take to get there address? my DH has been gone a week...is just now going to basic tomorrow...he's been in reception...will he get to call when he gets to the real Basic to tell me it or what?

I had to wait until I got a letter. Do you know for sure it is tomorrow that he will go over to actual training? I have schedules for some of the Companies, and one might be right but I don't know if it would get there if you left his PLT blank, might work though. might be worth a try to surprise him with a letter early. I see one that starts the 30th and one that started the 23rd..... umm.... there must be ones I can't see at the moment if he starts tomorrow.

Otherwise, it just depends on the mail. it took us almost 2 weeks in to his training to receive his address, but mail was just being a pain all around. It was dated like a week and a half before we got it and it wasn't that far.

yea he called me from a friends cell to say it was his last phone call bc tomorrow they were going to training...but no address...i got 2 letters from him already but no return address ...ugh!

He probably sent those from reception. He wouldn't have known his address yet. He'll get it tomorrow, but who knows when he'll get it to you.

It is weird, b/c they normally do orientation day on Fridays. At least, all the schedules I've seen do that. hmm.. oh well... oddities of the army, no surprise

lol...well i have NO CLUE! im so new to this its not even funny...i hate been lost about everything...his letter said tmrw would be the day & he also called and said that...so idk, maybe something else is tmrw...but he told me he already got his hair cut- uniform issued- paper work done- pics taken...so idk what else...LOL
