Loretta 11-17-2007, 04:03 AM They decided to send him to recruiting duty for two weeks back home(YAY for more christmas break time :yahoo), then to airborne, then to Drum. I'm actually starting to get excited about it! :dance Loretta 11-20-2007, 05:16 AM Eh...one more :bump Can't hurt, right? :giggle Dani17 11-20-2007, 05:18 AM I don't live at fort drum but I live a few hours south and DB is out of Ft. Drum. It's pretty good up there and it isn't so far to Albany which is where I'm from. :) Good luck with the move! thejibstah 11-20-2007, 11:12 AM We're not at Ft. Drum but we just moved to Saratoga Springs for Prototype (navy nuclear power school) and I don't think it's too too far from Drum, looks fairly close on the map! Haha.:D Loretta 11-25-2007, 12:13 AM We're not at Ft. Drum but we just moved to Saratoga Springs for Prototype (navy nuclear power school) and I don't think it's too too far from Drum, looks fairly close on the map! Haha.:D Google isn't giving me Saratoga Springs :( so I have no idea hwere it is...but :yay for being close, if we are! :five Taressa 11-25-2007, 12:18 AM your about 6 hours actually i think. if you go the way i would LOL. but not if you cut across the state. saratoga springs is near Lake George and vermont where Ft.Drum is over near Canada and the Malone area i would have to take rt 11 to rt 3 to 87 to get to from ft. drum to saratoga springs. that is of course the only way i know and is probably WAY out of the way lol. i will be up in that area for the holidays.. yay i can't want to go home. not looking forward to the snow though.. thejibstah 11-25-2007, 12:58 AM Mapquest says that it is 170 miles and they estimate a time of 3 1/2 hours. Guess it is a little farther away than I thought, but it's still pretty close compared to how far away we are from most of these ladies! :D rcwant2be 11-25-2007, 01:01 AM my bro was there, prior to iraq. i've seen the pics of how much snow they got last year...good luck with that! Taressa 11-25-2007, 01:04 AM Mapquest says that it is 170 miles and they estimate a time of 3 1/2 hours. Guess it is a little farther away than I thought, but it's still pretty close compared to how far away we are from most of these ladies! :D see i knew i was taking the long way but its the only way i know LOL i don't know any road that cuts across the state that way. Loretta 11-26-2007, 11:46 PM my bro was there, prior to iraq. i've seen the pics of how much snow they got last year...good luck with that! :ohsnap Not looking forward to that!! Taressa 11-26-2007, 11:49 PM well girl buy a good shovel and some salt. its so pretty for the first few days. and know that under the snow on the road is generally ICE so becareful and you can't have chains on your tires in NY or spikey things. i have to say normally by march i am tired of looking at it. Loretta 11-26-2007, 11:51 PM well girl buy a good shovel and some salt. its so pretty for the first few days. and know that under the snow on the road is generally ICE so becareful and you can't have chains on your tires in NY or spikey things. i have to say normally by march i am tired of looking at it. Ohhh good, we don't have to buy chains? :woot We had to have them when we lived in Montana and Idaho, so I assumed we would. One expense we won't worry about! :yay Taressa 11-26-2007, 11:55 PM i just redid my NY license from out of state and that question was it LOL i was like NO you can't i know that for a fact LMAO i remembered how shocked i was to see people chaining up in WA i was like what? for these hills? then it hit me. they don't plow there! LMAO and NY does use Salt and it will eat the crap out of your car in a freaken heartbeat. i would just make sure you have all weather tires and don't think that if you have a 4x4 you can go 90. winters there can be so pretty. they can also suck. my son was born in 97 right before the big ice storm of 98 he was like 10 days old when it started and the area is still recovering, we went 15 days without power or water since we have a well no power for the pump no water. fun times my friend fun times! ask some locals about the 98 january ice storm its still vivid in everyones memory i am sure LOL Loretta 11-26-2007, 11:59 PM We had an ice storm in MO last year that knocked out power to over 90% of the city for over a month. I can handle the ice, just not the eighty feet of snow:lol Taressa 11-27-2007, 12:01 AM girl you can move snow. you can't move ice snow is better LMAO last year was well a freak of nature thing. i am from the Plattsburgh area and they didn't get NEARLY as much as watertown got that was just well insane. Loretta 11-27-2007, 12:07 AM girl you can move snow. you can't move ice snow is better LMAO last year was well a freak of nature thing. i am from the Plattsburgh area and they didn't get NEARLY as much as watertown got that was just well insane.
