I am just needing to talk about this because it has just hurt me so much losing my old english bulldog this past Sunday, her name was peaches and she was the sweetest dog and I was so use to seeing her everyday waiting on the porch for me when I came home from work. It was so sudden losing her and the vet told me that more than likely her heart just stopped. My whole family is in morning over her death. I had adopted her from the vet clinic I use to work at. She was about 7 yrs. old when we got her 2yrs. ago. I love that dog so much and now that she's passed I can't stop crying it doesn't matter where I am at work or home I just breakdown and cry. I keep thinking of her sweet little face and it breaks my heart. :tears

I am so sorry you lost you pup :( I have 2 dogs, so I know if I lost either one of them I would be heartbroken, they are my rock..............my Indy was my first baby ...........I got him just over 2 years ago as a puppy, and was going through a terrible marriage (abusive) and so after an episode and the police getting involved I got all the things I could carry including my Indy got in my car and drove from IL to CA took four days..............point of this storie is, that Indy was my life saver, he spent 4 days 12 weeks old in that car with me and he was my rock and sounds silly but he got me through so much pain.......................I would be heart broken without him. They are our family and so when they go its like loosing not only a best friend, but a family member. Its heart breaking............you need to cry as much as you can and just get it out, I am sure he is still with you though, protecting you and always will be by your side.

Hugzzzzzzzzzzz and I really hope you start to feel better soon.

My dog was put to sleep about 2 weeks ago, and it absolutely broke my heart too. What made it worse is that I'm away at school and didn't even get to say goodbye to her...ok I'm crying all over again right now. My parents called and told me and I happened to be at the bus stop, I must have looked like a fool because I was bawling:(
I loved that little dog more than anything, I really did.

When my mom came to visit me she said "when you come home we're going to have a day to remember all the funny things Lindsey (my dog) used to do to make us laugh" and I started crying all over again.

Now next week I have to go home for the first time and my dog won't be there to greet me at the door. It really hurts, I totally understand what you're feeling. Pets can mean just as much to us sometimes as a person in our family. :hugs

I just wanted to say how much every one of your comments has helped me feel a lot better about my dog "peaches." You know it's such a nice feeling to know that complete strangers can show such a random act of kindness towards others especially in a time of loss. Once again I want to thank you all for being so supportive and kind.

My condolences for your loss! I have BTDT and it is soooo very hard. For many people, their pets are their family.
