literally.

Has anyone ever did this?

I prefer freezing over cutting it up...just in case.

I have. it is much easier than cutting them up, and you have to go thru so much to use them. :giggle

Just don't defrost in the microwave when an emergency hits!

I do it and it works. Not having it in my wallet makes me think twice and eliminates impulse buys.

If I decide I need to use it I let it thaw in the sink... usually I end up feeling guilty before it defrosts and realize whatever I thought I needed that I couldn't pay for with cash is unnecessary so back in the freezer it goes.

It's a great exercise in self control :)

:yes

This was very helpful in lowering our debt, but without completely ripping away our safety net.

I think if you get a savings plan in tact there wont be any concerns for a "just in case". My thought is cut em up.

freezing them is an excellent way to teach your self self-control:

the method depends of you-- if you are a big big impulse buyer- use a jar the size of a mayo jar-- this takes FOREVER to thaw- if you have good self control but just need a boost a ziploc bag will be fine.
