Mine is leaving for a bit on a special op mission :ninja

I don't even know where he's going :shrug. He's with medical intelligence, so that says it all right there.

Mike will be leaving in January for pre-deployment training then leaving for Iraq in March-April. I know I'll need lots of support, and I'd love to give support as well.

Maybe a group of us could start emails to one another, send cards, exchange screen names, have chat nights, etc. once our SO's leave?

I'm more than willing to stay in touch with all of you. My SO's in deployment training now in SD. He deploys in January. No matter how hard I try, I can't feel ready for this separation. It's my first, but his 9th major deployment. We don't even live in the same state now, but with him on land my fears are lessened. It's hard to put it into words, but I have fears about the wide open oceans and him being on it for months at a time.

I want to - I plan on - staying busy and staying in touch with other people who understand me.

:sadeyes My hubby is leaving mid to end of January and will be back the end of Aug or beginning of Sept. :tears

I am absolutely dreading this deployment. It's our first as a family - my first altogether, but his 3rd - and we will miss so much together. Valentine's Day, our son's 3rd birthday, our anniversary, but most importantly the birth of our daughter... :tears :tears :tears It just tears me apart to think of him missing such a special day. :tears

I will definitely be needing all the support I can get, and I will be here to give all the support you other ladies will need. :hugs

I would LOVE to! DB leaves in January for pre-deployment stuff, and leaves anytime between February-March. All of us January ladies will need to stick together! this is my first time around so i have NO idea what to expect!

My fiance left at 5am this morning for a year. This is the first time we've been apart since we've met. It hasnt even been 24 hours and I feel like I'm going to lose it. What is the best way to cope?? The box of cookies, bowl of guacamole, and carton of milk didnt help.

Mine is leaving this month. He'll only be gone 2 1/2 months though. He'll be doing winter training across the country from me. After he gets back, he'll be gone almost every other weekend for a long weekend stretch-it'll be like that until November.

Robert leaves in a couple weeks. It doesn't seem real, he just got back September 30 and we have less than a month left before he goes again. Got to love the Navy. :rolleyes Thankfully this will should be his last deployment ever!!!

Mine is leaving for training early next month, then on to Kuwait. He might be gone until after Thanksgiving time. :sigh
This will be our second deployment together. I think a support group is a great idea! We can do this!!

My baby is leaving this weekend for Japan and then a tour of Southeast Asia. This is my first deployment too and I don't think I have ever felt this way. I'm having a hard time keeping my spirits up for him. I want to be strong but the only thing I can do is cry.:sadeyes I'm going to miss him. :pout

mine is leaving super soon too from TX. He has been gone awhile now training anyway so it has made this deployment even longer in the longrun. He did come home for x-mas though.

My DB left almost 2 weeks ago for South Korea. It's only supposed to be a few months, but it's my first deployment, so I'm taking it hard. My dad was also active duty Air Force, but I was too young to remember any of his special ops missions; it was just a lot of TDYs. DB and I are already long distance (2 1/2 hrs.), but not being able to talk to him 3-4 times a day is torture!

It truly takes a strong woman to be with a military man, and I hope I can make it....I love him so much! :sigh

Count me in! I just found this thread but I was looking for this exact type of thing. There's something comforting about going through each phase together!
