Hello everyone.
I am Melanie. Marinewife to my best friend Nick. We have been married for almost 8 years. He did 2 back to back deployments in our second and third year of marriage. I was stationed in California, I had a newborn when he left. I enjoyed the sisterhood we had there. All the wives try to meet each other and stay busy and lend a hand. When he got back we felt we needed sometime to bond as a family. He got station at MCAS New River in Jacksonville, NC. Its the air station for Camp Lejeune. We have been here almost five years and he just left for a year deployment as part of a MiTT.
Unfortunely, our unit is very unorganized. Guys were pulled from all units and jobs for the Military Transition Team. The deployment brief was a joke, and its almost been a month. I haven't heard from my key voluteer at all. I have four kiddos and I miss my sisterhood. I am a lemon maker kinda girl. I miss my husband terribly, but want to make the most of it. We have already gotten a package together and sent it to him with the kids and we are working on sending christmas decor. I hope to find wives who have been through or are going through the same thing, and support and help eachother out with a positive outlook.
Sorry for my long "intro" but I found you while surfing and was excited with what I saw when I peeked in the bored. Hope to get to know you all really soon!!!
