my dh will be deploying soon, I don't have a job yet and I was wondering what kind of pay dh will be getting while he is gone. Will he be getting regular pay, do they pay them extra, or do they stop pay altogether and pay them in one lump sum when he gets back? Just wondering since I don't have a job, and I am a little worried about paying the bills. thnx in advance :P

You'll get Family Separation pay, plus he'll get hazardous duty, and possibly imminent danger pay. Plus depending on where he deploys he could possibly be in a tax free zone.

He'll still get his normal paychecks and the extra pays will come in the same deposit as his check. Family Sep. pay kicks in after they've been deployed for 30 days.

you will get it through the deployment. he has to be gone for 30 days for the family seperation pay to kick in. and if he is flying into a tax free zone the whole month will be tax free and you will get back pay, that is how i have always understood it. we are used to it taking two months to see the extra pay but a huge check when we do get it because of all the back pay. but things go faster now so i am not sure my DH left this month and we are expecting to see the extra money Jan. 1st at the earliest. the extras plus your regular pay.
