Our damn dog at an entire bag of bubble gum tonight while we were out shopping :reallymad I counted 27 wrappers and God only knows how many other wrappers he actually ate. Is this something I should call the vet about in the morning or wait it out and see? TIA

I'd call the Vet just to be sure it was not an immediate emergency. I'm sure the dog won't be feeling to good later on. I hope everything will be ok! :hugs

Call the vet emergency if he gets blocked it can be fatal or cost you a HUGE amount in surgery....I know you can make them vomit with a tablespoon of hydogenperoxide....you might ask about doing that.

read the ingredients does it have xylitol in it?if so i would take him to a vet because it is toxic to dogs

The funniest thing about this is he had to have been worried we'd walk in and catch him as a wrapper was IN THE MINI BLINDS that he always looks out of. :hehe He seems to be fine right now. :dunno

You really need to call the vet just to make sure. He may be fine now but could get really sick. He could get liver failure, low blood sugar, seizures etc. It only takes 1-2 pieces for a dog 10-15 pds to get sick, your dog ingested A LOT of gum.

u should still call all that sugar can mess with a dogs blood sugar, and if it has xylitol in it it has been known to cause liver failure in dogs, better safe than sorry

I'm on the phone w/our old vet now and he's saying to just keep an eye on him.

You need to watch him, if he starts getting sluggish (not sleepy but slow, staggering kind of stuff) or acting strange get him in to the ER vet. Vomiting, seizures etc.. may happen too. Just keep a VERY close eye on him then.

I have no choice but to watch him. :heheOnce the kids are in bed he always turns into an over sized lap dog.
The only thing the vet seemed to worry about since this type of gum didn't have the toxic sweetner was of course his bowel movements and/or puking and then choking on the gum.
