I do not understand WTH is going on with my DH's ship but they thought they would get mail today and now tihis is what her wrote.......
" I just found out that we are not going to get any mail for a WHILE!!!!!!!"
I am so discusted with the whole situation especailly since all the other ships seem to have already gotten mail and I mailed his whites off on Nove 6th(the day after they pulled out) and the rest of his packages went out by the 13th and he has not gotten ANY, and now not for a while. total :bullshit:getit

I totally know what you mean!!! WTF Truman, get off your ass and pick up your mail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahh!!

the lady at the post office says that the mail is "readied" for them to come pick it up everyday...so that way they never have to wait on the post office, it's always waiting for them. She said sometimes they come and get it like once a week (all the time)... or it will sit for a MONTH!! wtf...

it can't be that hard.. I do understand security and all that.. but it can't be checked and processed until it's on THE SHIP!!! :freakout
:hugs
I hope he gets his uniform...
I'm sorry that this stuff has to be so complicated--- I thought the mail would be the easiest part of all this...

For Gods sake, why can't someone pick up the F-ing mail weekly? I will need an abundant amount of drugs before this deployment is over. :hairpull

hmm interesting...I didn't know that! Aren't there specifically people that do just mail as their job in the military? My DH's and mine old roommate did it...I mean if they aren't doing that what are they doing?? :dunno

Yes, there are. My husband is a PC. I can tell you that he is on TDY orders to security though, so he hasn't been working in the post office for awhile.

Please be kind when you're talking about the guys in the post office...it's not fair to them to blame them for something that they cannot control. They just process the mail once it gets on the ship, they can't control when or how it gets there.

I am just pissed that it is all sitting somewhere. Atleast the truman has gotten some packages, the Carney has not and will not for a while. I'm just upset about it all. not blaming the ship PC but whoever does have it, get er done!!!!!!:teehee:hystericlaugh

I think it's more of a matter of getting the mail to the ship safely!! I'm in the same situation, lots of stuff has been mailed with nothing being delivered.

I just hope they get mail before Christmas, it's got to be very difficult for ship morale right now!!

Mandy, not all of the other ships are getting it either. It is the whole battle group. Mail has been delivered one time to DH's ship in 5 weeks.... it is pure and utter bullshit!!!! Yay Navy!!

I know that none of our battle group is getting any but they may be in the next few days???? but other ships that are out are getting mail according to a few I have talked too. and you are right it is all utter BS, I do not understand it, ......I know I know..." they have other priorities that come, and blah blah blah all the other excuse under the sun "I have heard but ....still..... it pisses me off and with good reason, this is our 2nd ship and everything is totally different.... even after 9-11 when our last ship left out they still got mail like every other week. and the world was worse off then and military still kept the mail coming to keep moral up.

I am wondering if it will be like this the entire time and if I should just stop sending packages at the half way point since they might get home before the packages get to them:teehee

My DH will be flying back prior to the deployment ending. I've sent him 2 packages and I might send him one more. It depends on when he receives these two packages.

I was wondering the same thing, I don't want to send packages for them to get delivered after he comes back home.

This isn't our first deployment with the Carney, and none of them have been like this! I think because of the location it might be a bit more difficult to get them mail. I'm just totally throwing this out there from left field.

My best friends DH returned from deployment in the same area and their mail situation was just as bad. I think they went 2 months without mail!!

Yeppers, he told me the other day, to remind him to never pick a ship that is leaving right away again.. LOL I tried to warn him but we had to get out of our old location and it was the only opprotunity.
