:grumpy well I got called into the NAF office today about my application, of course me being all excited thinking yay I have a chance, well NO, because me and dh got married after he left AIT but before he arrived at his PDS I am so conveniently not on his orders... which means I cannot be put on the military spouse list which is supposed to put your name at the top of the applications... so even though i type 78 words per minute and had a nice fat resume I won't get it because of that small technicality... someone else who has less experience but is on the spouse list is going to get it... this totally sucks :vent well thnx for listening... what can I do :dunno :reallymad :reallymad

I agree with you. that also doesn't sound right as some guys get married after they get to their PDS and their wives aren't on their orders, so are those ladies not considered either??

And remember you can only use your spousal preference once a duty station, so even if you dont get the job you cant use it again...

Plus it doesnt mean you will get the job..When we hired our newest employee she isnt even a spouse of a military member and was picked over one...

I have talked to like four different people in the acs building, the job works building, and the naf office, and they all said its a technicality you can't go around, but hopefully maybe they won't use that to hire???
